i've seen this before, but i'm still not smart enough to understand how it works.

right every time

Jeff 04-19-2004 12:07 PM

Wow. Somebody explain how this works.

NetterButter 04-20-2004 12:02 PM

i tried this four times and it was right every time...dang!

Lasereth 04-20-2004 12:09 PM

I figured out the one where you choose a symbol on a page and it predicts the one you got, but I'm stumped on this one. I'm sure it can be explained with math, but I don't see any patterns yet!

I sense evil afoot. :hmm:

I blame that squiggly haired kid, his demonic little dog, and that witches brew known as 7-UP. I call for a ban on 7-UP, for conspiring against the forces of nature.

/paranoia
oh, and I was kidding...just for the benefit of those that could not tell. :D

cheezhead 04-20-2004 01:56 PM

Cool! Thanks

tommy thompson 04-20-2004 05:10 PM

It did not work. My number was 9, it told me it was 1. Hahahahah! Either he needs to follow his own advice, or this thing is broken! I even tried it again, with a different set of numbers!!!!

Fremen 04-20-2004 06:03 PM

I didn't pick any numbers and he still assigned one to me. :hmm:

It's math, so it has to work. If it doesn't work, it's an error on the user's side. :)

jwoody 04-21-2004 07:17 AM

I've tried it five times and the little bastard got it every time.

How the heck did he do that?

Nisses 04-21-2004 08:35 AM

Sorcery! I blame the metric system. It's the tool of eeeeeeeeevil

zaiaz 04-21-2004 08:48 AM

Well i figured out if there is no zero in the 3 number it subtracts the large number from the smaller ones, but if there is a zero it adds the three numbers:crazy:

maybe he wasn't thinking clear.

iamtheone 04-22-2004 03:38 AM

I think I almost have it figured out. I am still hitting the chalk boards.....

will advise.

3leggedfrog 04-22-2004 04:30 AM

ha it choose wrong! it said i choose 8 when i choose 7! off by one.

btw it does it by stats. most frequently chosen numbers. human are predictable.

SaltPork 04-23-2004 08:18 PM

Doesn't work if you do four of the same numbers like 7777 or 9999, and it was wrong three times for me and right only once. Oh well, I would have been cool, but it wasn't.

Kewpie Dan 04-23-2004 09:57 PM

it worked twice for me, i'm not a statician so i have chosed to base a broad pattern off of 2 results, thus, it is perfectly clear that whoever runs this website is a telepathic robot and we must defend with our lives the right to live as people and not puppets to some demented automaton...

KellyC 04-23-2004 10:28 PM

I didn't pick any, I just type in random numbers in the box and he end up giving me the number 6...hahahahhaa

It clearly said in the directions to choose a bunch of different numbers. Of course it won't work if you don't follow directions...it's based on math, and math doesn't work unless you follow the steps correctly.

This is what I get, when you take your first number and jumble it up, and then subtract the smaller from the bigger, all of the digits in the result add up to 18. So then, you take three of those digits, and then subtract from 18 and there's the number that you have supposedly circled. I don't know why the digits add up to 18 but they do. At least it works when the 4 digits are all different. I picked three sets of digits and it always does. So far as I can tell, it won't work if you repeat a digit and include a zero. But otherwise, it always adds up to 18, even if you do 5 or 6 digit numbers. Wierd.

It only took me about 5 minutes to figure this out, and I'm drunk!

Edit:
The numbers always add up to a multiple of 9. Either 9, 18 or 27, etc. Therefore, if the digits you enter add up to lower than 9 then it will subtract from that. if they add up to more 19 or higher then it' will subtract from 27. I'd type it out in more detail , but like I said, I'm drunk, and I hope that you all canb grasp the concept of what I'm trying to say.

Thank you for your time, that is all.

/End communication.

Good job, that's exactly the pattern I was looking for. I figured it was based on multiples of 9 (most other Internet guess-games mostly work on multiples of 9) but I couldn't figure it out.
