In fact I think that I have only heard the word less than a half dozen times.

You know... that's really sad. It seems to imply that you haven't had women wear them for you... that said, if you wore them as much as Flyman you might hear the word more frequently (as in, "Excuse me Ma'am, where do you keep the man-sized peignoirs?")
