So I almost put this in the Nonsense forum. But....

Where does the phrase "righty tighty, lefty loosey" come from? And is there any connection to politics?

Would a liberal describe a conservative as too "tight"? I think so. And would a conservative describe a liberal as too "loose"? Perhaps.

What do you think? Coincidence? Or secret plot by the Illuminati to foster stereotypes?

Hate to blow another conspiracy theory but is just nuts and bolts - turn it to the right or clockwise to tighten it - left to loosen it. Inless it's a left hand thread - (Maybe they're Canadian)/

I believe it has to do with the way screws and bolts are put on, and it just kind of rymed. It's connection to politics I believe is just an amusing coincidence.

Yeah, it's a nut and bolt thing. Agreed that it's kinda of a funny coincidence that it can get political as well.

I just used that phrase a couple days ago to make the point. A consultant who did a short video for our company website showing how a product works got it backwards, so his screw thread turned counterclockwise to loosen and it was a standard screw not reverse thread.

I think it's so important and a basic need to know that it should be move to Tilted Philosophy.
