A day in the life of Dick Cheney

"And Belloq has made no progress in his search for the Ark of the Covenant"

Since the early '90s, the city has boomed as Communist China has relaxed its iron grip on wealth creation, and the Western World has begun to recognise how much China's biggest city has to offer. The result is an incredible East meets West scenario, no more obvious than on The Bund (the major street in Shanghai) where, on one side of the river area these amazing relics of Shanghai's swinging '30s, and on the other side are the biggest buildings you will ever see. Unlike our Western world, the Shanghai hip cats haven't been spoiled for choice and become cynical. Nightclubs are booming, fashion is as avant garde as anywhere else in the world and art is erupting. It's New York without the pretense, Paris without the poodles (although they can still be found in some restaurants), Tokyo without Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. It's amazing, and lets face it, our generation is never going to buy property to keep us anchored with mortgages. Take full advantage of your post baby boomer freedom and get out to see the world.

Is this an excerpt from your book, Bundy?
yes. its going to be called, 'Bundy and Astro's Excellent Adventure...to China'
what do you think? is there a sequel there somewhere? |
As long as I can pick the soundtrack I'm okay with it.
well i hope you aren't into all this common internet thrasher music... a la Anal Cunt, Cannibal Corpse and Cradle of Filth... because i'm not, and i'd be insulted if i was associated with that.
Um, sure that music is cool but for a chinese adventure I was thinking "Three little Maids from School"

now you're talking... but wasn't the Mikado set in Japan, not China.
I'm not really THAT familiar with showtunes.
I saw the Mikado once. One of my best friends was in it. He did a good job. Not that I remember much about it.
So your "best friend" sings showtunes -I see yes, I see.
is your best friend called Dorothy?
et du Toto? et du?
I think with recent events this thread somehow becomes even more irrelevant than ever.
