OK, I'll explain. There's a graphic novel (read: fancy comic book) called "The Watchmen". One of the main superheros is named Rorshack, pictured above. At one point, he is in jail, and being shown inkblots. The first one he looks at, he sees a dog with its head split open, but says "I see a pretty butterfly".
