The " Why can't they make ..." thread
I want a motherboard that has a digital readout giving exact problem reasons. No hunting down the mobo manual for light/beep code translation.
Why can't they make a car gas gauge that accurately reflects the amount of fuel present in the gas tank? Every car that I have owned has never had an accurate gas gauge.Come on auto makers...you spend billions in development, but why cant you come up with a decent fuel gauge? |

they fuck with the guages so at one point or another, you gotta call a tow truck thats driver is the brother-in-law of the gas guage makers second cousin.that way kick backs are happinin',and the auto makers are all laughin; cuz the second cousin took them all golfing with the fuckin' money you had to spend on the damn tow truck.
it's all a conspiracy eh. |

Why cant they make (this is sooo good) a program like Kazaa or whatever where you could d-load an actual object.
I know it'd be really bad for economy & shit but i was thinking. I d-load music & movies & games etc etc so wouldnt it be great if you could d-load a phone or a minidisk or a car or whatever? Am I crazy?

There are some with digital readouts already. I think they display a number and you look this up.
Anyways if you've got a problem with your motherboard - just install windows and look in the Event Viewer to see what's up Seriously though, if your motherboard is fucked than it relies on the lowset common denominator mechanism to get the message across (ie, if there's a memory/CPU problem you can't exepct it to execute the logic needed to lookup and display an error code) - hence the use of beeps and shit. |

hmmm the deal with the gas gauge is this... Car manufacturers are in Kahoots with the oil industry....they make the gauges inaccurate so people are constantly refueling...thus supporting the oil peeps. nobody wants to run out of gas, so to insure that, ya gotta refuel...thats my theory...I drive an Isuzu box truck that has the most horribly calibrated gas gauge around...it says its half full, when in all actuality it is at about a quarter tank.

My parents always taught me to read the millage trip instead of the gas gauge. I always know that I have to get gas at the 300 mark on the Mustang. And another thing, Why does it take 30 fucking dollars to fill up that beast?? One big damn conspiracy!

Why can't they make cartoons like they used to in the 80's and the early 90's when a cartoon was a cartoon and not some screwed up Power rangers twist?

why cant they make.... like a spray or something that dissolves dog shit.... would be easier than constantly cleaning it up, and it would be environmentally friendly. also why cant then make something that prevents long haired cats from shedding? i spend countless hours cleaning my clothes before i go out because i like to wear dark colors! argh!

Actually I think Albatron makes motherboards with a voice mechanism that tells you what the problem is if something goes wrong - I was looking at one when I was shopping around for a new one after my old one crapped out on me. I went with a Soltek though... good performance, the anti-burn shield shuts your system off if your CPU starts to overheat and it's pimpin' purple. |

Why can't they make a thermostat that will automatically switch from AC to heat as needed to keep the house comfortable. I have one in my car, but there does not seem to be one for the house.
For a number of weeks each spring and fall, we need the heat on some nights and the air during the day. My poor dogs suffer if I don't switch it over each morning before going to work. The technology must exist and I can not imagine that it would be too costly.

I just want rollerblades and ice skates in size 16EEE. Is that too much to ask? Same with skis and bike helmets, why does everything have to be for normal people?
And it wouldn't kill them to make a sports car that I fit in, or at least with pedals far enough apart that my foot can push one at a time. |

Why can't the good sitcoms stay on the air?
Why can't someone make a good radio that doesn't fade in and out? Why won't the Minnesota Wild realize that their alternate jerseys are fugly and cause the NHL's ratings to drop? Why, oh why, can't Philadelphia teams not choke come playoff time? Why can't someone make it so that I can record on a different channel than I am watching? Why can't someone make a healthy food that tastes like a donut? I'm done. I think I typed too much.

If they can do cosmetic surgery, and bone grafts, and move muscles from one body part to another, why can't they take various parts and stitch together a second pair of arms, or wings, or something interesting like that.
