Yaw is one of the three Tait-Bryan rotations along with Pitch and Roll and is defined as the rotation of a rigid body around its vertical (Z on the Wii Remote) axis. Yaw is the only Tait-Bryan rotation which can not be calculated using the force of gravity since it is defined (in the case of the Wii Remote) as rotation around the axis of gravity. Ergo to calculate Yaw the Wii Remote's infrared support must be utilized. |
