I'm a ramblin' man...sometimes. Not right now since I'm digesting with my butt planted in this comfy big leather chair with my feet up on my ottoman, I just ate a great cheesesteak from Dakota Pizza, it had plenty of good steak, real good garlicy roasted peppers, and topped off with some damn good aged sharp provolone, on a long lightly toasted sesame crusted roll with just the right amount of crispness.
Later I might be ramblin' again....hopefully about some Maggie Moo's delectable creamy vanilla ice cream with roasted almonds folded into it. |

I think this is the first year I've ever watched more than 2 college football games in a season. I've watched 3 thus far, I think.
It'd help my easing viewing transition if I had a team, but I don't. I also don't like the whole BCS structure, or the fact that the world ends every weekend if a ranked team loses. What happened to "any given Sunday"? There's also something that irks me when I look at the box score and it displays 56-13 in regular intervals. And it blows my mind to accept the reailty that running backs on a good day, can have upwards of 350+ yards in a game. Even though they say that the NFL is the "fastest violent sport in the world", I think it's the only football that is exactly my speed. (I also like to watch Australian Rules Football on random Friday nights, but I still don't fully comprehend it).

of Buffalo? They won against my team.
My teams are, in this order: Washington Redskins (1a) Tampa Bay (1b) San Diego Chargers (I did a report and lived there during my youth) Arizona Cardinals (Kurt Warner/Fitzgerald is main reason I follow them... also, I like perennial losers who finally win) (both team have the same number of syllables if spoken) Green Bay Packers (they just look fast in those uniforms) Baltimore Ravens (ever since they were formed from the remnants of the Browns and in memory of the Colts, I liked them. it wasn't until last week that I adopted them as a team I'll always follow) (I love the defensive side of the ball, and it seems both teams this year will have big plays)

the bills are my #1 team, and have been for many years...
the bucs are my next favorite team, and have been for about 10 years... it was a tough game to watch, especially with asshole T.O., but still a good game...

I'm also bewildered that the Eagles have been in the NFC championship game 5 or 6 times this past decade, yet still the faceless masses of Philadelphia keep calling McNabb a "bum", and to a lesser extent, they want coach Reid gone. Also, I thought both of you were talking "college football" above, and I got lost fast. It wasn't until an hour or two later did I realize that NO and Philly played each other this past weekend.

I see. You weren't confusing me after all?
Also, I just realized this: the archives of podcasts that I'm rolling through - from summer of '07 up until July of this year - I am currently in the first week of Nov. in 2007 in my listening venture. The realization: the "guys" will be talking about the tragic death of Sean Taylor soon, and it's the first time I'll be hearing it in its entirety. I'm left silent for a spell today in that ponderance.

how 'bout a punchline?
A man walks into a bar with a duck under his arm. The bartender asks: "Say, where did you find the pig?" "It's not a pig, it's a duck," the man answers. To which the barman replies: "I was talking to the duck." |
