That shit is AMAZING!!! Brings back memories..... Of course, I was never that good.

ForgottenKnight 12-13-2003 04:44 PM

THAT'S SOO AWESOME! It does bring back memories! I never knew anyone could have enough spare time on their hands to get that good!

Is that the video where some Japanese dude beats Mario 3 in eleven minutes? I saw this on a forum that my brother visits (inferior to TFP) but everyone there was too arrogant to admit that there was some insane Mario skillz in that video. That guy's accuracy in the game is uncanny.

Yup, thats it Stiltzkin... It is amazing, its crazy how I remember every last bit of it. Of course I dont think I ever got to the end :(

11 minutes?

how the hell is that possible.

he flew through the castle stage.

thanx Av.

There was a thread about this in the gaming forum a while ago, and someone pointed out (Lasereth, I believe it was) that the guy was using an emulator which may or may not have been running at a slower actual speed than regular gameplay. Also, he apparently died and started each level quite a few times before he got it right, then pieced the segments together. Nevertheless, it is a very VERY cool video.

See what I mean? Why are people jelous? This guy practiced the game a lot, and got good at it, big deal? Why try to make excuses? If he's good at Mario, let him be good at it, jeez!

I mentioned this in the old thread about this video, but I went to the guy's website and he admitted to using an emulator to keep saving and reloading his state until he did an optimal run-through of SMB3. He didn't slow it down though and said that it took a very long time.

The point was not to fool people into thinking he had beaten the game in 11 minutes, but to see what a "perfect" completion would look like.

Still, very cool

I don't quite think it was jealousy. Lasereth probably posted it for the same reason I did in this thread. With these posts, you never see the whole story at first. Regardless of the story, I'll be the first to admit there's no way I could ever do this, and that guy is a SMB God.

This makes me want to go dig out my old SNES right now and play! Although i'll never have those skillz, that guy is amazing regardless.

11:02 game time
1 million hours logged in practice time.

Yes, I am jealous

Batman976 12-15-2003 11:38 AM

I always swam underneath the ship.

Yes that guy is the mario god. Bow down to him.
