brung ya one; it got dropped...
The streets of the city are barren All the windows and doors have been cloced As the night draws near You can feel their fear Their freedom is just an illusion And they tell us that love is a lie Can it all be true What can one man do ******* See the pages as they turn Never will the children learn Born as a prsoner in a curtain of iron Never will the pages turn The City of Gold's in the distance And they've already forgotten their dream Visions slowly fade In this land of shade (How prescient was this?) As the power grows, darkness spreading Hope is still alive, though we're dreading What the future holds, no more need to Fear what all men face Only good can win the race Rumors speak of war, all the nations Turmoil in the streets, tribulations Now it's plain to see All the prophecies are taking place (eh?) Only good can win the race There are fragments of truth still remaining And they bring them the light of the world To this hope we cling Till the bells will ring See the pages as they turn In their wisdom we will learn (WHAT?) Our bloody history will soon resolve See the pages as they turn In their wisdom we will learn Free from the prison, a Curtain of Iron

Runnin' Blue
The Doors Poor Otis dead and gone Left me here to sing his song Pretty little girl with the red dress on Poor Otis dead and gone Yeah, back down, turn around slowly Try it again, remembering when It was easy, try it again Much to easy, rememberin' when All right, look at my shoes Not quite the walkin' blues Don't fight, too much to lose Can't fight the runnin' blues Well, I've got the runnin' blues Runnin' away, back to L.A. Got to find the dock of the bay Maybe find it back in L.A. Runnin' scared Runnin' blue Goin' so fast What'll I do Well, I've got the runnin' blues Runnin' away, back to L.A. Got to find the dock of the bay Maybe find it back in L.A. All right, look at my shoes Not quite the walkin' blues Don't fight, too much to lose Can't fight the runnin' blues All right, look at my shoes Not quite the walkin' blues Don't fight, too much to lose Can't fight the runnin' blues

Getting Closer
I went searching for the truth but in my innocence I found all the con men and their acrobats who stomped me in the ground If I could count up their percentages I know they're getting rich but they haven't taken everything those paybacks are a bitch Though I've lost quite a lot I am still in control they can keep what they've got but they can't have my soul and if I don't have this all worked out still I'm getting closer, getting closer I still have far to go no doubt but I'm getting closer, getting closer What was ripped off by professionals is not all that it seems while I must live up to contracts I did not give up my dreams if I see it as experience it hasn't gone to waste lately all the missing pieces have been falling into place And if I could go back and start over somehow I would not change that much knowing what I know now though there have been sins I will regret still I'm getting closer, getting closer I don't have all the anwers yet but I'm getting closer, getting closer I'm a mark for every shyster from Topanga to Berlin and I should have learned to kick them out as soon as they crawled in so to every bank in Switzerland that stores my stolen youth I'm alright because despite the laws you cannot hide the truth and although you will say I am still too naive ()I have not lost faith in the things I believe and if I don't have this all worked out still I'm getting closer, getting closer I still have far to go no doubt but I'm still getting closer, getting closer -from Billy Joel, The Bridge (DPAM) He was nobly born and a Spanish bull's horn Had left one scar on his handsome face He stood like a prince and he had ever since He had grandly walked into the place Though the girls of Madrid were tonight forbid For tomorrow he must fight once more Before he left the ball he must dance with them all For he was El Toreador The day of the feast was just a light in the East When he left Maria's warm bed Her dark eyes said more but he walked through the door Shaking cobwebs of dreams from his head And later that day as he knelt to pray He said God grant me this nothing more If it is the way and I must die today Let me die like a toreador The Plaza del Toros shook from the roar As the band played the toreador's theme Alarmed by the sound the bull paws the ground As the toreador enters the ring Round and round up and down On and on all alone The shouts of ole in the heat of the day Rushed the hot blood to his Spanish heart And the crowd held its breath as he flirted with death As the bullfighter's sword found its mark And trying to hide the wound in his side He walked from the ring standing tall And a crowd gathered round as he fell to the ground And a priest held his hand where he lay in the sand And he was heard to say a brave bull died today But he died like a toreador - Charlie Daniels, et al

Damn, I just love this...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=1Qt6b8B5Bd4 Comfortably Numb Pink Floyd Hello. Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home? Come on, now. I hear youre feeling down. Well I can ease your pain, Get you on your feet again. Relax. I need some information first. Just the basic facts: Can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain, you are receding. A distant ships smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin. When I was a child I had a fever. My hands felt just like two balloons. Now I got that feeling once again. I cant explain, you would not understand. This is not how I am. I have become comfortably numb. Ok. Just a little pinprick. [ping] Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh! But you may feel a little sick. Can you stand up? I do believe its working. good. Thatll keep you going for the show. Come on its time to go. There is no pain, you are receding. A distant ships smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin. When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse, Out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it now. The child is grown, the dream is gone. I have become comfortably numb.

...couldn't find 'animals'
so here's more charlie daniels, et al If you ever go back in the Wooley Swamp You'd better not go at night There's things out there in the middle of them woods Will make a strong man die from fright There's things that crawl and things that fly And things that creep around on the ground And they say that the ghost of Lucius Clay Gets up and it walks around But I couldn't believe it - I just had to find out for myself I couldn't conceive it - cause I never would listen to nobody else I couldn't believe it - I just had to find out for myself There's some things in this world you just can't explain The old man lived in Wooley Swamp Way back in Booger Woods And he never did do a lot of harm in this world But he never did do no good People didn't think too much of him They all thought he acted funny The old man didn't care about people anyway All he cared about was his money He'd stuff it all down in mason jars And bury it all around And on certain nights if the moon was right He'd dig it up out of the ground He'd pour it all out on the floor of his shack And run his fingers through it Lucius Clay was a greedy old man And that's all there was to it The Cagle boys were white trash Lived over on Carver's Creek They were mean as a snake and sneaky as a cat And Belligerent when they'd speak One night the oldest brother said Y'all meet me in the Wooley Swamp later And we'll take old Lucius' money and we'll Feed him to the alligators They found the old man out in back With a shovel in his hand And thirteen rusty mason jars he'd just dug up out of the sand And they all went crazy and they beat the old man And they picked him up off the ground And they threw him in the swamp and stood there And laughed as the black water sucked him down Then they turned around and went back to the shack and picked up the money and ran They hadn't gone nowhere when they realized They were running in quicksand And they struggled and they screamed But they couldn't get away And just before they went under They could hear the old man laughing in A voice as loud as thunder Now that's been fifty years ago and you can go by there yet There's a spot in the yard in the back of that shack Where the ground is always wet And on certain nights if the moon is right Down by the dark footpath You can hear three young men screaming And you can hear one old man laugh. (Hey, Fly? Would "pigs-three different kinds" be better?)

And all I've got I had to steal Least I don't need to beg or borrow Yes I'm living at a pace that kills Runnin' with the devil Runnin' with the devil I found the simple life ain't so simple When I jumped out on that road I got no love, no love you'd call real Ain't got nobody waiting at home Runnin' with the devil Runnin' with the devil You know I, I found the simple life, weren't so simple, no When I jumped out on that road Got no love, no love you'd call real Got nobody waiting at home Runnin' with the devil Runnin' with the devil Runnin' with the devil Runnin' with the devil

here ya go, baby.........
Early in the evenin' just about supper time Over by the courthouse, they're startin' to unwind. Poor kids on the corner try to bring you up. Willy picks a tune out and he blows it on the hum. Down on the corner, out in the street, Willy and the poor boys are playin'; Bring a nickel. Tap your feet. Gersta hits the white bow. People just gotta smile. Lucas thumbs a gut-bass, yeah, solos for a while. Poor boy brings the rhythym out on his kalamazoo And Willy goes into a dance; doubles on his lou. Down on the corner, out in the street, Willy and the poor boys are playin'; Bring a nickel. Tap your feet. Down on the corner, out in the street, Willy and the poor boys are playin'; Bring a nickel. Tap your feet. You don't need a penny just to hang around, But if you got a nickel, won't ya lay your money down? Over on the corner there's a happy noise. People come from all around to watch the magic boy. Down on the corner, out in the street, Willy and the poor boys are playin'; Bring a nickel. Tap your feet. Down on the corner, out in the street, Willy and the poor boys are playin'; Bring a nickel. Tap your feet. Down on the corner, out in the street, Willy and the poor boys are playin'; Bring a nickel. Now, when I was just a little boy,
Standin' to my daddys knee, My poppa said, son, don't let the man get you Do what he done to me. cause he'll get you, cause he'll get you now, now. And I can remember the fourth of july, Runnin through the backwood, bare. And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin, Chasin down a hoodoo there. Chasin down a hoodoo there. Chorus: Born on the bayou; Born on the bayou; Born on the bayou. Wish I was back on the bayou. Rollin with some cajun queen. Wishin I were a fast freight train, Just a chooglin on down to new orleans. Chorus Do it, do it, do it, do it. oh, lord. Oh get back boy. I can remember the fourth of july, Runnin through the backwood bare. And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin, Chasin down a hoodoo there. Chasin down a hoodoo there. Chorus All right! do, do, do, do. Mmmmmmm, oh.

Now, from this pic, can you tell why? Here's a hint......it's NOT Santa Take your time to guess, and I'll be back with the answer later on..........eh! |

If it keeps on rainin, levees goin to break, If it keeps on rainin, levees goin to break, When the levee breaks Ill have no place to stay. Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan, Lord, mean old levee taught me to weep and moan, Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home, Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well. Dont it make you feel bad When youre tryin to find your way home, You dont know which way to go? If youre goin down south They go no work to do, If you dont know about chicago. Cryin wont help you, prayin wont do you no good, Now, cryin wont help you, prayin wont do you no good, When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move. All last night sat on the levee and moaned, All last night sat on the levee and moaned, Thinkin bout me baby and my happy home. Going, gon to chicago, Gon to chicago, Sorry but I cant take you. Going down, going down now, going down. |

Temptation
It's time for me to be on my way I know I've got business to conduct And I've got places to go But I can't help looking at her sleeping instead Another morning I'll have trouble climbing out of this bed Because-she's such a temptation It's driving me crazy And it's my fascination That's making me act this way And I know all of my friends say They're afraid that I'm losing my touch But she's such a temptation I look so tired 'cause I don't get much sleep And I've got too many commitments that are too hard to keep And I try to be rational And I try to be wise But it all gets blown to pieces When I look in her eyes Because - She's such a temptation And nothing can save me And my only salvation Is tearing myself away And I know what all of my friends say There's a danger in wanting too much But she's such a temptation I should be leaving But I can't cut it loose I have my reasons for resistance But I have no excuse And I lose my composure I could use some restraint I never claimed I was a hero And I never said I was a saint She's such a temptation It's driving me crazy And it's my fascination That's making me act this way And I can just hear all my friends say "Better watch out, you're losing your touch" But she's such a temptation Yes she is She's such a temptation Yes she is Yes she is She's such a temptation -BJetal

new, but what?
Button your lip. Don't let the shield slip. Take a fresh grip on your bullet proof mask. And if they try to break down your disguise with theirquestions You can hide, hide, hide, "I'll tell you what, I'll give you three blacks, and play you forfive ..." "Ta! You was unlucky there son" "Time gentleman!" Behind paranoid eyes. You put on our brave face and slip over the road for a jar. Fixing your grin as you casually lean on the bar, Laughing too loud at the rest of the world With the boys in the crowd You hide, hide, hide, Behind petrified eyes. You believed in their stories of fame, fortune and glory. Now you're lost in a haze of alchohol soft middle age The pie in the sky turned out to be miles too high. And you hide, hide, hide, Behind brown and mild eyes.

Behind Blue Eyes
The Who No one knows what it's like To be the bad man To be the sad man Behind blue eyes No one knows what it's like To be hated To be fated To telling only lies But my dreams They aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance That's never free No one knows what it's like To feel these feelings Like I do And I blame you No one bites back as hard On their anger None of my pain and woe Can show through But my dreams They aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance That's never free When my fist clenches, crack it open Before I use it and lose my cool When I smile, tell me some bad news Before I laugh and act like a fool If I swallow anything evil Put your finger down my throat If I shiver, please give me a blanket Keep me warm, let me wear your coat No one knows what it's like To be the bad man To be the sad man Behind blue eyes

Well I left my home down on the rural route
Told my pa I was going stepping out And get the honky tonk blues Stopped into every place in town This city life has really got me down I got the honky tonk blues Went out last night I wore out my shoes Woke up this morning wishing I could lose Those jumping honky tonk blues I'm gonna tuck my worries underneath my arm And scat right back to my pappy's farm And lose the honky tonk blues - Hank Williams

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been Lives in a dream Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door Who is it for? All the lonely people Where do they all come from ? All the lonely people Where do they all belong ? Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear No one comes near. Look at him working. Darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there What does he care? All the lonely people Where do they all come from? All the lonely people Where do they all belong? Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name Nobody came Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave No one was saved All the lonely people Where do they all come from? All the lonely people Where do they all belong? word.
