Drugs were better back in the sixties.
Just ask these inventors.
Some of the things I reckon that could have made it if only for the ingenuity behind the idea. Car record players, 1961. ( Plenty of potential but the dirty back roads sorted this one out ). Portable electric hair dryers, 1961.( Not a good fashion statement even back then, unless of course you were trying out for a B52's or Marge Simpson role on the run ). The paper dress.( Many a camping trip gone wrong when toasting the marshmellows or lighting a ciggie with a burning ember ). Portable steam bath, 1966.( Losing weight on the run was always going to be difficult, not to mention the Dutch Oven effect ). Auto vacuum cleaners, 1968.( Early Vacuum cleaners rocked ). What funny things the sixties produced. The seventies however can lay claim to all societies ills with this little piece of nostalgia. Instant glue, 1973.( Man still does this present day ). Nostalgia just aint what it used to be.
