56K-dial up
Anyone still using them, or am i the only one???

Had it, Got rid of it...Moved then had it again...Moved again and now I got High Speed back.
it's really bad when you have High Speed and have to switch back to dial up cause high Speed is not Available where you are living. But I am happy now, No more Dial Up. |
Oh yeah, i still have a 56k, and damn i hate it. I wish i had a cable modem but it's just too expensive for me PLUS i'm not even sure if i can get one considering where i live. *crys* . . . maybe someday i'll be able to get one.

i always forget just how utterly slow a dial-up is until i have to use a computer at a friend's home who has no fast connection.

I have a 56k modem, but the phone line only lets me connect at 28k =( Sometimes I get better speeds than that, but rarely though.

I couldn't imagine going back to dial-up. It'd be like driving a BMW, then having to rent a Yugo while the BMW's in the shop.

I spossedly have a 56k connection...but when you get the details from the two little green comp looking things next to you're clock....it tells me that in reality Im conected at 26,400 bps....fuckin dirty phone lines.

56k at home, t3 at school. Cant complain, I'm at school more than I'm at home ;)

56k but it usually connects at around 44k at home (weekends). Down at my cousin's (week days) it's a lot slower.

i connect at around 28-34kbps as well. It has somthing to do with pair gain or something. The phone lines are fucked near my house :(

I have High Speed at school, but when I go home for the summer I'm stuck with Dial-Up (max speed 41kbps
