What should my girlfriend and I have for dinner tonight?(4-29-03)
We're going to go out in New York, but don't know what kind of food to have. Where should we go?
*edit* Reviving this post. We're going out to Smith Street in Brooklyn. There's all kinds of food. What should we have or if you you know the place where should we go? *edit* See today's post.

I had some Ethiopian food the other day that was great...(no joking please)...really if you can find an Ethiopian restaurant you'll be psyched...it's a lot different than any other place I've been. You sit in front of a sort of wicker basket type table, on stools. Everyone orders their food, and it comes out on a big tray. The portions are divided gebnerally with what we would call a garden salad...only somehow different. Instead of using utensils, they give you this strange kinda sponge bread....to scoop up your food. i don't know just a suggestion if your looking for something good and interesting!

I've had Ethiopian and it is truly an experience. I'm not sure I'd like the sour bread any more than I did at 12, but I should probably try again. Thanks for the advice Guttersnipe. I think we're going to a Mexican place we love. Good margaritas! Thanks for the help folks!

Its not where you are going, but if you have the chance, there's this nice Italian restaurant called Maria Pia on 319 West 51st St. Its nice, not too fancy not too casual, great atmosphere, really good food. I think the price was pretty reasonable, too.
