You do great animation, Sun Tzu. It took me 50 minutes on my 56k modem to get them to all work, but they were definitely worth it.
Thank you.
The GWB, jr cowboy trot was my favorite.

THe software I use was designed for making avatars the size we use here in the forum. I enlarged them for this thread so they're quite a bit larger than usual. Thanks for being patient and the feedback.

With hammer and screwdriver in hand grumpyolddude started the days work with a good attitude; that is until he struck a loose wire without being grounded:

Followed by a grueling session of agony from smashing his finger; he decided to switch to Sanka.

That's awesome, Sun Tsu! Thanks a lot! You captured my relationship with tools to perfection.

Do I need that Me3D program to reduce those to avatar size? Resizing through what I have just gave me a static gif, no animation. I'm running WinXP Home.

Avatars can be any size; do you mean the size of TFP avatar max?
Do you have photoshop?

I should have been more specific. I meant TFP avatar max. No, I don't have Photoshop. I have MS Picture-It, some HP crap that came with my all-in-one, and Kodak PictureCD. As you can see, I haven't taken digital imaging very seriously up to now, and I'm not really inclined to spend any cash on it right now. Is there a freeware/shareware that you are familiar with that could help me play with these? Maybe I'll like it enough to get a serious program for it.

(the soul-patch look ain't too bad, but I like my goatee too much!)

The trick with the TFP avatars is A)100 x 100 which isnt that much of an issue aside from loosing a little clarity (with any avatar) and B) the challege: take a gif animated creation and get it narrowed down to just under 20k. Ive found that anything 19.70 and over will kick it back at you.

Ulead gif maker is good. I still like image ready for quick gif animation manipulation the best. It comes with photoshop, and when you right click an animation you see somewhere on the net you can open it frame by frame animation in image ready. The first order is to reduce it down to 100x100 just clicking on image then image size. That will knock down the size of the file. If they are video gifs or colorful you can start knocking down the amount of color from 256-128-64 so on anything past 8 will generally be black and white though. if you get to 8 and its still too big then you have to start knocking frames out. To make the animation even I'll go through the entire frame sequence and knock out all the odds or evens. That begins minimizing by 50% each time. THen you put the frame rate at the desired timing and shaaaabooom.

This one orginally started at 320x260 was colored at 256 and had a file size of 175k. Now its 100x100, 8 colors, and should be at an even 19 using the above method.

PS . . . . . . kazaalite er emmm

Flyman I've seen you all over the place, but now for some reason all I can find is side shots of you, if you have one can you put a link to an image where its a clear frontal shot.

Bones the only reason I put up your "alter self" is because I didnt think you had a pic up (well also because you didnt say yes either; can you put a link to where your shot is, if you ave a couple direct to the one where is most frontal, no profiles will work.

Months after becoming drummer for the hottest band around, Flyman let the fame overtake him and developed a problem with consuming too much MD 20/20. After 30 days rehab he switched to Boonesfarm and was able to go back on tour.

He has been known to get people at after show parties to walk as straight a line as him.

Is there any way you can make it smaller? I want to use it in another forum that requires it to be less than 150x150 pixels.

He tried to educate me:
