After playing around with the search functions for Corbis Images last week, I thought to try the same technique for the Getty Images Archive.
I say that that there is about an 88% chance that the two images are related, and in fact, it's actually the same woman being portrayed in both instances; but, the problem is, one of them images I actually found semi-relevant contextual clues that it exists, with a date, photographer, and collection, but the other one (the first one) has no real attributes to suggest that is from the same situation, taken by the same photographer, or anything... or maybe not? Perhaps I'm overthinking this one.

LIFE! Right?! I’ve been looking into this girls eyes and studying her face for, what, like ten minutes, now. Looking as well at the dead fox with eyes and mouth agog, arms akimbo, body cupped in that uncomfortable locus shoulder ball joint. Ignore the crowd behind. Their field depth means they’re less than strophe than antistrophe, less antistrophe than epode, less epode than afterthought. Look at this girl!

I’ve been looking into this girl’s eyes and studying her face for some sign to indicate she’s evil or joyful or awful, and she’s not. That’s the entirely the whole point of this photograph, right? Juxtaposition! As if every photograph weren’t an already obsolete recapitulation of Wittgenstein’s Tractatus. As a person with eyes, I take umbrage at the imprecation. I do not gawk. I do not intuit logic from mere position. I do not truck with the notion that a this plus another this equals a that. There isn’t superposition in two dimensions.

Jarring orthogonality? Jawing originality. Even in 1944. But what if they’re just putting us on? I suppose it is that simple! Just another day in Kenosha, dear. But look at her smile! At them both. The fox with his arms up as if to say Don’t shoot! I’m unarmed! The girl slightly out of phase: Seeing a camera seeing her.

Was this reply supposed to come off being read as condescending as I interpreted it to be, or am I off?

Simply put, I noticed there was no attribution or acknowledgement to the author/artist, took about 15 seconds to see if I could fetch the details, and with luck, I was able to do so quickly, and applied them where needed. I am curating this topic to the best of my ability, you know, and I prefer to have it so if anyone here (meaning you, the ever-silent audience) would like more information on the 'who, whys and wheres', I provide it to them graciously and repletely.

not meant to be condescending at all; it's just that on most, if not all, of my previous posts there was never any attempt to "attribute" the photo to any individual source, nor do i feel a need to do so. i pick all of my pics off the internet unless they're of me, my friends, or my belongings...

It's alright, uncle phil; and again, I state, I'm not trying (taken as: passively-aggressively "forcing") anyone to adopt my now-engraved habits to make the internet a more share-worthy and recognizable place; I mostly do it for myself, (finding, researching and placing the artists here or there) to see if I can find, then later adjust, any of my posts to add authorship to, so it comes off as looking 'professional', in a manner.

I've had a fairly good success rate of it in the past six months, too, if I can state it so. And in a topic such as this, which I don't consider "nonsense" as much as a themed art gallery, with occasional pieces of a silly and light-hearted nature sprinkled in; so, for the most part, I try to enlighten and awe the readers here, more so than just amuse them for a spell with a single pic (not meant as an offense to others who like to share here, but I've gotten way past just linking an image only).

I suppose I should say thank you for allowing me to elaborate my meaning of my first reply. And also, thanks for elaborating yourself in turn, as I don't get too many others who reply to me anymore, it seems, and because of that, I jump at the chance to interact & converse with others who would allow me to.
