Bunny ears and Santa hats ['Tis the season]
 

That's the basis for this thread, pure and simple.

So, it is once again that season come anew.

The following is just a bit of insight I'd like to bestow upon any willing to be receptive to it.
Easter (or Ishtar, Egyptian goddess of renewal) and Christmas, (or the Winter Solstice, pagan ritual of sacrifice and debauchery) in my findings of being a lifeong archivist and purveyor of historial oddities, should, in essence, be the exact same season to the religiously true. I have found that, the Birth and Death of Christ, in actual Scripture texts, occurred very similarly in proximity of the time of year. If anything, it would surprise anyone else but me if it was to be found in the future through facts, that Jesus actually was born, and later died on the exact same date, 30-some odd years later.

That's about as deep as thread will get, I'll bet, as this is nonsense.

I just want to state that Easter and Christmas, for me, will forever be intertwined and celebrated in this ONE time period.

I've never been "cool". I know I'm not the only person who doesn't credit every picture they post here. Perhaps it's your job to be the posting police for TFP so I'll give you a heads up...I'll probably continue to post as I have been, but it wont be on your threads. I've been scolded enough. It's not fun anymore.

Since when do I scold? I'm just informing you and those who may not be aware of the terms to which certain transmissions of information must be met, as dictated by international copyright laws; and the easiest way to do so is to at least acknowledge that the works you are displaying are not your own. Most websites and blogs put the disclaimer out in front or in fine print near the bottom, and I feel that, I, too, feel obligated to do so because so many images here actually do have current and relevant authors.
Just because others do so freely, it doesn't mean that they are not doing something wrong.
Creative Commons is a simple website and first glance reading for those that feel they missed something as to how the internet is supposed to sharing information.

Furthermore, I've never once told you, or anybody else for that matter, to change their habits when it comes to procuring or featuring images, as I usually get as much fun as discovering who the original author is from whatever post I happen to come across. I'm just trying to instill a better way that for every struggling artist who has had their images stolen without their express written consent, at least gets the due acknowledgement that they were the originators of said creation. Just because I quote something you've posted and tell others this is who created it, this is what gets you ruffled?

I"m not causing you any problems by properly maintaining my own threads' degree of standards, am I?
I'm just saying that if some member were to ask me "Oh, how neat. Do you know who created those images in post #24?"... well, with a higher degree of search savvy, I may well find out in time, and then from then on all of the brilliant displays of work I feature in more than 2 dozen commons will not be left forgotten, for there will usually be attached a name to it.
