We are snowed in, and soggy. Somewhere in-between the swirling elements, there is a normalcy.

Since last year the army has been waiting out the warm weather, looking forward to the season when their strengths would again be hightened. To pass the time, they played games with each other

Sometimes they drank too much

Sometimes drunken games led to infighting

They rooted out a spy among them who was sending messages to the enemy

They are again ready for battle

Talk about getting your drift, I bet these folks get it:

I didn't fully appreciate how prolific they are ...worse than rabbits!

But as they get older they take strange forms. These guys scared the hell out of me as I was walking the neighborhood soliciting shovel clearing services:

There's something about being out in the cold, surrounded by these statues, that has you go mad.

There's liable to be a word for it - I wonder what it could be?

In some of those pics above the melty snowmoners are getting a bit limp. But I just noticed how upright and erect he seems in this pic, tumescent with the frozen water of his life.

Thanks for contributing, fill23ca. (Phil? Hey, Phil? Phil! Phil Connors? Phil Connors, I thought that was you!)

I probably had the same image all ready to be posted from my queue, but it's just as well someone else got in on the fun.

I do have this, however, to add: {it looks, eerily, like the same snowmonster}

as seen in Second Life (it's apparently a game)
