frickin' amazing. I may not be the "best" web searcher around, but when I get my mind set to finding something, I usually come out on top. If only my motivation were to last longer than 5 minutes, I could possibly rule the world.

Bear cubs donated by Russia's first couple move to Bern zoo
MOSCOW, November 27 (2009) Two Siberian bear cubs presented by the Russian president and his wife to the Swiss capital in September have settled in at Bern zoo, the Swiss ATS agency reported on Friday. The orphaned bears, caught in the taiga by hunters in spring, were presented by Dmitry and Svetlana Medvedev during their state visit to Switzerland in late September. The cubs were named Misha and Masha. The bears were kept under quarantine for two months before settling in at Bern zoo. The gift preceded the opening of Bern's newly enlarged Bear Pit, for centuries one of the city's main tourist attractions. It stretches down to the river and is designed to give the animals more space and a more natural environment than previously. Bears have been kept in Bern at the city's expense since 1513. The city's name comes from the German word for bear, and the animal is featured on the local flag and coat of arms. Medvedev's surname comes from the Russian word 'medved' meaning bear. The animal is a Russian national symbol, and features on the ruling party's flag.

woodsie, that glowing frog reminds me of when my son was quite young, though not as young as in my last pic above which was shortly after he was born and before we had the pediatrician do his annual depilatory treatment...anyway, the boys would catch lightning bugs and feed them to our pet frog and then one night we saw the bugs glowing inside the frog and got a big laugh. After that the kids in the neighborhood would show up after dark to watch our magic glowing frog light up their lives.
---------- Post added at 12:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 PM ---------- thanks, sapiens. My wife and I are proud parents and he's gotten even handsomer as he's gotten older. |

There's a story to it -
Lady sitting outside on her back porch one evening. Gets up to take a stroll. Sees the frog. Looks closer. Saw he actually had the light in his stomach. She gets her camera and the sons come out. Frog delightbulbed and unharmed. But it's the interwebz so I dunno. Sounds like fun. |
