I too have pics that are too large to download occasionally so I know how you feel. Sometimes I can find the same picture in another format if I search google images for it.

*threadjack*
I see a couple of comments about pictures being the wrong size. If you 1) have a pc and 2) have the image on your pc you can do the following. I don't recall the original place of this document that I copied word-for-word into notepad, but it works .................. I know I am little late, but here is a wee lesson I wrote for my wife and her friends on how to resize pics with WinXp: Here is the location to download the "Power Toy." Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP There are dozens and dozens of different power toys on this page that you can use, today we are just concerned with the one called: Image Resizer (imageresizer.exe). It is in the blue column on the right side of the page, it's 8th inline as I write this, but that may change. Installing 1. Simply download that file (the .exe) to a location on your computer where you can find it later, the download should take just a few seconds as it is a very small file. 2. Run (double click) the file to install the tool. You will need to click 'next' and 'yes' a few times, leave all the settings as default. It should be pretty straight forward and easy to understand. 3. Click "Finish" at the end of the install process and you are ready to go. Using It's very important to note, the Image Resizer is not a program that will show up in your "Start Menu." It is a part of windows like "Cut and Paste." Just another part of the operating system so don't go looking for a new application like you would after installing other programs. 1. Right Click on an image (or group of images). 2. From the pop-up menu that appears you will select "Resize Pictures." A new window should appear. 3. Choose the size you want. I normally use Large (1024X768), that usually makes a nice image small enough for emailing, but still full screen. 4. Click OK. The tool will now make a copy of the image (or images) in the same folder as your source file. Renaming is automatic, IE: myprettypicture.jpg will be copied and renamed to myprettypicture(Large).jpg. If everything is still in default mode the original file will not be affected, chose the "Advanced" option to change this setting if you like. That's all there is too it, in my experience a mega size file of around 2000K will often be reduced to less than 100K and still be full screen and with no obvious loss in detail. __________________ ................. /threadjack Zdzislaw Beksiński - oil, felt plate

What?
just use Free Online Image Editor takes all of 8-12 seconds to upload, resize, and re-host elsewhere.

Anyone have strong feelings one way or the other on whether or not this thread belongs in Nonsense? It seems far too serious for the usual Nonsense games and fun. PM me if you have an opinion on where it belongs.
And well done, everyone. I wish I had the talent to contribute, but I realized long ago that my artistic talent lies solely in the "patron" catagory. I've enjoyed this thread very much.

I would leave it up to Shell since she started this thread and decided to start it here. Sometimes "nonsense" is very sensible But I'm good with it no matter where it is. ---------- Post added at 12:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:55 AM ---------- |

^very meaningful lyrics, BadNick.
And thank you, Nick...very gentlemanly of you. I am flexible with a relocation of this thread. I agree that to label some of these photos as nonsense is inappropriate although some believe war in general is nonsense. But I do feel comfortable with where it is because there is a fine balance here of laughter and tears, of sillyness and seriousness, of thankfulness and regrets, of fond memories and hard lessons learned, of realities and dreams....of choices and alternatives. More importantly, everyone has the freedom to express themselves here without the wrath of discussion rules and expectations. Like, BadNick, "I'm good with it no matter where it is".

Thank you, sbscout. "Beauty" does make sense. Jetee suggested that it may have said "Burden". It does kind of look like that too, although I like the sound of "beauty" better.
There are some great pics of Janis around. I'd love to see more. And Kramus, I always enjoy your quality input here...thank you.
