What is your favorite pet sound?
I like it when cats are all "Mreeeowp! Mreeeoowp!" at bugs and spurious spots of light.
I get annoyed in the mornings when they are hungry and are all "Mrrrrrr! *bat bat bat* Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" What are your favorite and least favorite pet sounds?

I like the different sounds my cat makes when he is purring while he is cuddled in my lap.
I hate when he mews at my daughter's door in the middle of the night.

I love to hear the purr of my Jellybean, especially since it's been years since we had cats.
My doggy's (Maggie) bark is ok (and annoying if extended too long), but she has this sound she makes when she's really happy to see you.....it's sort of a cooing bark. It's pretty cute. She's part beagle, and the sound she makes kind of reminds me of Snoopy in some of the Peanuts cartoons.

I like in when my female cat meows at me when I get home. She does the cutest meow, it's like a person when they're asking you a question, she goes 'mmmm?' in a quite high-pitched tone.
I also like it when my male cat meows because it's sounds like ba-oooooo.

I miss my cat. I don't miss the whining to go out or be fed in the middle of the night, but curling up on my pillow, nose almost in my ear, purring contentedly because he's enjoying being warm and next to his big buddy is something that can't be replaced.
I dislike the sound of coyotes howling in the neighborhood because they're a big threat to my neighbors' dogs and cats, and even to the neighbors themselves. If they start moving in and getting too aggressive, I'm going to start shooting them. |

one thing I like about my fish is that they're quiet...or at least my hearing isn't sensitive to their sounds. A little watery plop now and then as they break the surface just to remind me to feed them.
my turtle is also very quiet...unless you pick her up and then she hisses at you and wants to eat you, probably a throwback to her dinosaur genes. |

A singing canary is my answer (it's a pet) but when I was searching for a youtube of it, I came across this video of the Lyre bird (not a pet)...sorry but it's much more fascinating...watch and listen carefully! It's amazing!

I love when my Old Man Cat's purr fades off and he sighs and snuggles a little deeper as he's going to sleep. And when 16 Pound Kitten chitters at bugs. Or when he thinks I'm lost and starts calling for me. It cracks me up. MaaaOOOOOOOO?!
They both make snuffly, happy noises when I come home and make Momma Kitty comfort noises when I'm crying. But I hate the yelping that comes just before a hairball.

I have a sweet little Domestic Lynx with 24 toes (normal cats have 16) who makes some decidedly odd, but completely adorable, noises.
My favorite is "Mwa?" I'm trying to teach her to say it after I say it, but so far, no go. She seems to only want to say it when I'm on the toilet. She also regularly makes a sort of scratchy/breathy "Eh!" noise - cuuuute! |

:O Lucky! Polydactylism is my absolute favorite feline mutation! My favorite pet sounds on the other hand. I love when my old dog lays down at the end of the day, puts his head on his paws, closes his eyes and makes a very loud, very long sigh. My least favorite would have to be the squaking of birds in the pet store. *glares* What's that all about anyways? |

Me too! My whole family actually.
We used to be strictly dog people. Never had a cat until a preggers stray wandered into our garage and had her litter. There were 5 or 6 kitties and one of them had ALLL THESE TOES! (Six toes on three feet, seven toes on one foot.) We were stunned. Never seen or heard of such a crazy thing, so we had to keep him. Named him Foots and he lived to a grand old age of 19. He was such an awesome kitty, we had to get more once he was gone. Years later, the family is ALL about poly kitties. Mom and dad have two, I've got two, and my brother's family has one. And I just got an email from a friend who's got a friend with two poly kittens to adopt out... Decisions, decisions! |
