One day a few days ago I awoke to find that while I was in a hypnotic stupor I must have downloaded and saved Halx's current avatar. So even if he changes it, I plan to post it up once in a while

I have found an antidote. On Firefox, hit the Escape key. This causes all animated GIFs on the page to stop moving, and magically causes Halx's words to become readable again.

Oh, but all I see in this thread is the Misfits.

This is my favorite GIF ever...

It even makes up for all the Misfits nonsense going on in this thread.

Ok, I may be young but I know I can one up you guys on the dial-up fest. I did connect to a BBS once with a 2400 baud modem, but during the days of 28.8 and right at the beginning of 56k I lived at home with the parents (I was... like 14?). Both of my parents ran businesses out of the house, so we had a phone line for both businesses, 2 fax lines and a personal line for the house. I had 3 28.8 modems in my PC with one external so that I should shotgun all 4 of them to a local ISP that I knew the owner so he let me have multiple lines accessing my one account. I got over 15k a SECOND! Beat that!

Btw, my first online BBS ventures were circa 1983 via a 2400b modem running on my super fast NEC Powermate 10 MHz 80286 processor machine with all of 40 meg hardrive and 512k RAM...with accessories for $3400. I'm truly impressed with this thread and will be checking it frequently. I'm also tempted to look through some of my old backup files to find my collection of animated Gifs. Of course many of them will be of people getting hit in the nuts and sports bloopers (oh the college days), but I think there are plenty worthy of this thread.
