napalm in the morning...

I still like patchouli, it gives me fond flashbacks to the '60's and reminds me of my first car in which I accidentally crushed a whole pack of patchouli incense, so the car smelled like that the whole time I owned it.

Eucalyptus brings back memories. When I was a young boy, my dad frequently had a little bottle of eucalyptus oil and if we got the sniffles/congestion, he'd dab a little under our noses...I still like that smell and crush up a eucalyptus leaf whenever I see one just to get a hit of it.

When I smell Estée Lauder perfume it almost makes a girlfriend who wore that appear in front of me, even though that was 40 years ago.

I also like the smell of my exhaust when I'm burning C16 racegas.

freshly cut grass... :D

There's a popular tree grown in my city, I wish I knew the name but I've never asked nor singled it out. I only notice its smell when driving with the windows down. Its a faint sweet smell, almost like honey. I'll eventually need to find out its name, because I want one planted in my backyard.

Only in the morning? Seems like it would smell like victory anytime of day.

Offensively so, it smells like a cross between sex and a Catholic church.

Love it.

The correct name for it is "Petrichor".

I love how silent the moon smells.

BBQ!

This thread is embodying some of my fondest concepts of nasal sex.

ugh how could I forget rosemary??

And I gotta say, fast food smells pretty damn good when you're starving and driving down the road.

noodle 06-08-2009 02:56 PM

freshly turned earth.
vanilla-cinnamon coffee.
a freshly bitten strawberry.
my ex-SO's neck. his was the only skin that truly smelled good all the time.
carbouretor cleaner.
the spine of old books.
garlic.
jergens lotion reminds me of my mother from when i was very little. it's comforting, but maybe not one of my favorites.
fresh ground cinnamon simmering on the stove for my aromatherapy.
clean sheets.

Shell 06-08-2009 03:29 PM

(...still laughing at badnick describing this thread as "nasal sex")

my grandfather was and my daddy is a mechanic.
i love the smell and i stand by it, uncle phil.
it doesn't remind my of a father figure, though.
that's just the only reason i ever smelled it.
i jumped a man once who came in and laughingly put his cleaner-covered hands in my face... after he washed the excess off.
i love that smell.

wooÐs 06-08-2009 06:59 PM

I'll admit it - herb.

I quit smoking it a month ago and oh do I miss it. But the scent of some killer bud before it's smoked is just intoxicating to me. I could almost get high on smelling it alone.

CinnamonGirl 06-08-2009 11:56 PM

My grandpa used to smoke a pipe, and everytime I smell pipe smoke now, it brings back happy memories.

hmmmm...what else? Freshly-mown grass...jasmine...magnolia trees...fresh linen...

ObieX 06-09-2009 12:58 AM

do0b - both burned and unburned.. now THAT'S aroma therapy. Quite soothing.

There's a type of perfume that a girl i was with in highschool would always wear.. or some kinda hair product.. or scented make-up(¿)... i dunno what the fuck it was or what it was called but every once in a while when i'm in my store working or walkin' around someplace i'll come across it again and smile. I wish i knew what it was.

Frankincense is quite nice too. I used to play with it quite a bit when i was an altar boy :p

Yeah good one. I forgot about that. I love the smell of frankincense.

I don't know if anyone listed this but I thought of coffee this morning. For some reason, it just smells better when someone else makes it too.

Old Spice....my daddy wore it when I was growing up and I still love the smell

Realm (for men)I love it so much I carry a bottle in my car just to inhale if Im having a really bad day...or Dave is gone and Im missing him

Scottish Heather (the only thing I wear as "perfume" though its actually an oil

Chocolate chip cookies in a coffee tin, when I was growing up my Mama would make big batches of cookies for friends and give them away in those big cans that had had coffee in them, when you take the lid off the smell is heavenly

Cloves....I cannot get enough of the smell of cloves

gasoline

wood fire

Dave....his natural smell is to die for

BadNick 06-09-2009 04:24 AM

sometimes I get a whiff of a nice, earthy fresh scent from my fish tanks...makes me think the tanks are running in a healthy mode

I just had that coffee aroma wooÐs mentioned...I love that, too. Strangely enough, although I've never smoked cigarettes in my life, I really like the smell of dry/semi-dry tobacco, but not when it's burning.

Relating to another thread, I can hook you up with a full bottle of Aura Cacia clove oil. I bought it thinking I still liked the smell of clove but my nose changed. I used to love the smell of clove cigarettes. Now they make me nauseous.

I'll send 2 u or maybe we can meet one day yay.

Hey, have any of you smelled teen spirit?

Lately I've been nasally bombarded with this since my two teen boys are now in the habit of permeating the house with their colognes and sprays.

Charlatan 06-11-2009 04:15 AM

I miss the smells of Canada...

The earthy smell of the forest
The smell after a fresh layer snow
Pine
A northern lake
A campfire
Old canvas tents

BadNick 06-11-2009 12:09 PM

As I get within a mile or so of the ocean, I just love the salty smells of the bays and marshlands and then finally the ocean itself.
