This might be a bunch of bull, but maybe this bear fell into the Hudson River right off Wall St., then hurricane Ike washed it down the coast and onto the beach near Houston. I bet that could be a maybe.

You don't think that could be a Chicago Bear washed down the Mississippi and out into the Gulf and then blown onto the shores of Galveston by Ike...do you?

I don't believe so. This bear appears to be smarter than the average bear. And above average bears just aren't typical in Chicago.

Besides, the trade winds typically carry bears and cubs INTO the greater Chicago area, not the other way around.

That, and Ike never would have survived a bear attack of that magnitude.
