I just wanted to make a comment...
So, a few days ago, former basketball star Kevin Duckworth died at the age of 44.
The article reporting this was filled with superlatives from friends who knew him. One of them, of course, was "he had the biggest heart" .. could you imagine? Yesterday, the autopsy report came out. And wouldn't you know it, he died of an enlarged heart.

I had season Tix to the Blazers during his time with the team. He was an avid fisherman and a very nice guy. I worked with kids in trouble. He used to come into the detention facility I work at and talked with the kids. Even got permission to take a couple fishing one time. One time right before their finals with the Bulls he and Terry Porter showed up and hung out with the kids for a while. I wasn't working that day but my friend asked them why they were out driving around and not getting ready for the games. I guess they said the coach told them to go clear their heads. They went for a drive and ended up there, it was a 2 hour drive each way.
I was really shocked at his passing. BTW- yes, he owned a Duckworth boat. Nice boats, little out of my price range.

I certainly mean no disrespect to the late Mr. Duckworth and his family but your story happens to evoke the stories of famed race horses Phar Lap and Secretariat .

Sports fans are so fickle. My work site was very Pro-Blazers and due to his visits my co-workers loved Kevin... until he started missing a lot of shots. Then about half my co-workers began asking and answering "What's a duck worth, not much."
