Debut Albums

I picked this little game up off the internet somewhere. It's a fun one.

How it works:

1 - Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

If you want to do this again, you'll hit refresh to generate new quotes, because clicking the quotes link again will just give you the same quotes over and over again.

3 - Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days" http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Put it all together, that's your debut album.

*****************************************

Mine is:

An Sgurr - Lost. We're Locationally Challenged.

(My original cover was a baby, but i refreshed so I didn't violate any rules.)

Yeah, I second thought after I posted it that it probably belonged in nonsense.

I knew if everyone else felt the same it would just get moved, and here we are!

My band just broke up, so I'm starting a new one.

Girlie Men, "That I Fled From"

...crap. That didn't go as well as I hoped.
...and the photo didn't work. Are some photos protected on Flickr? I got an overlay or something.
...edit again, found it through Firefox and uploaded elsewhere.

I've played this game before, it was on a design blog...and they expected you to come up with a cover from the random image...

Church, flickr puts a transparent gif over the picture so you can't right click on it. I have found the RIP extension for Firfox to be efficacious in removing that gif and exposing the picture below to right clicks. basically, if you have spaceball.gif in your URL, you didn't pick up the picture.

I discovered that fronting a band called "Girlie Men" is not a way to impress the ladies. So, quit that and joined...

Agrippa Hull, "Always Wanted to Do"

(I don't have the image skillz to add overlay text to the image, sorry.)

Your Debut Album

Stolen from another forum...

==================================

Your Debut Album

1 - Go to Danish Superliga 1996-97 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Random quotations: Random Quotes - The Quotations Page
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

If you want to do this again, you'll hit refresh to generate new quotes, because clicking the quotes link again will just give you the same quotes over and over again.

3 - Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days" Flickr: Explore interesting photos from the last 7 days in FlickrLand...
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Put it all together, that's your debut album.

============================

I'll post mine when I get home.

soothing for me would be tough to define since i listen to such a wide variety of music. out of all 106 albums and 40 something records i own a few could be:

Radio Alarm Clocks - Confidentially Renee
Pixies-River Euphrates or Gigantic
Grateful Dead-Touch of Grey

you know, this list could go on for a bit

Flikr lay a clear overlay called "spaceball.gif" over the top of each pic on their website to stop people stealing them.

If you "view source" on the flickr page for the photo you want, and search for "*.jpg" or "*.png" you'll find the URL for the source image. Test this in a browser window, and if it works, download it to host elsewhere (if you're going to edit it like I did) or hotlink to it direct.
