...great location there tully...good job! I use to love to camp until i
went with the 4th grade boyscout troop...never got any sleep! ...but my favorite camping trip was trout fishing by a lake in the Grand Tetons years ago. Watched the muscrat swimming in the still wee hours of the morning when the lake was like glass. So serene.

Tul, I wasn't exactly sure what part of Detroit Lake State Park you might be in. I was going to mention the island shown in the pic...is that Piety Island?...but other than that sign I couldn't find anything more about it.
Give me a little time to find a new place to go. ---------- Post added at 09:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 AM ---------- unc, do you mean relative to this game, or just in general real life? in that case, NO. Believe it or not, I was actually going to go to Treasure Island located in the Delaware River south of the Water Gap, mainly because Shell's comment about being kept up all night at the Boy Scout camp reminded me of being there...it's a local Scout Camp property in the middle of the Delaware River and I have fond memories of being there. One being that I was singled out (unfairly I might add!) with a buddy, for starting a food fight in the cafeteria and they said I had to go home This was on the second day of a two week camp! So my buddy and I snuck out of camp and hit in the woods for two days, they sent out search parties, including senior scouts and our Marine drill instructor scout master, but nobody could find us. At one point I was up in a tree with my clothes stuffed with "camouflage" branches and weeds and a search party stopped under my tree to discuss where to look for me next...ahhh, I was so cool! But eventually we got too hungry and gave up and they sent me home with no refund But this led to a very happy and successful Boy Scout career for me over the next few years, so all's well that ends well.
yes, the small company I work for has our office and factory in Ivyland, just around the corner from Tony's Place Bar & Grill, where I will be having lunch later today. You are all invited, lunch and drinks are on me. PS: so where am I? Last edited by BadNick; 06-19-2009 at 06:04 AM.. |

A little side trip report: I had lunch today at Tony's and fell in love with Stephani who is a relatively new waitress, age appropriate I might add. Her name is actually Stephanie but the "e" drops out of my awareness of her existence and also from her name as printed on the check due to some ancient geophysical limitation of DOS only being able to handle 8 character file names. I had a couple of Rogue Red Ales (thank you, Oregon) with my grouper sandwich.
OK, where the hell am I? Since Stephani lost her "e" I'll say I'm in the EH |

...okay...here's my guess: ...Füssen, a picturesque town at the foot of the Bavarian Alps that conjures images of a fairytale kingdom with its beautiful castles, medieval town centre and azure lakes. Perhaps at the Neuschwanstein Castle, the dream residence of the ‘Fairy-Tale King,’ King Ludwig II. Ludwig who was a hopeless romantic...his iconic castle served as the inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. Just a beautiful Bavarian town.

I'm not there but hey, can I change my mind and be at the Neuschwanstein Castle? ...sounds like a beautiful romantic place:
See that little semi-circular area on the "back porch" on the right? That reminds me of a castle in Austria that my parents used to take me to when I was a baby boy. I was born in Braunau Austria near Salzburg and that's where the castle is. I remember a semi-circular pool on one terrace with a scary gargoyle face spouting water from its mouth into the pool and I was afraid to look at it and would hide behind my mother's dress. Tul, not Romania either/again...but I can almost hear my relatives saying "The blood is the life" |

Jet, not Albania. Shell, "Yugoslavia" would be correct if there was still such a country, but there is no longer a Yugoslavia. This ref is a correct description of the status of all the republics that used to be Yugoslavia prior to June 2006 Yugoslavia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So I am in a really cool city that is in one of the former Yugoslav republics. |

not Serbia and not Kosovo
thanks, Shell. I'm having a nice, relaxed Father's Day. If the rain holds off, later I'll go for a spirited drive up and down my favorite local winding road to pump up my adrenaline again. For presents, so far I got some bundles of love, a couple cool shirts, and Octane magazine for which I will have to learn "english" again. Don't let your bonnet slam on your fingers and watch those bodies in your boot. |
