"Twenty degrees and the hockey games on..." so are you where this hockey game took place?

Are you at this club in Boston? ...if so, I don't know the name of the place if it really exists or if it's just a song fantasy

"It was February in Boston, and I was cold and wanted to go home. Rum and tonic was the antifreeze, and the newspaper was full of ads for warmer climates. I was in a place owned by Derek Sanderson, who was a very famous player for the Boston Bruins in the 70’s. I came out of the bar and couldn’t find a cab except for the one that was running in front of a nearby hotel. There was no driver in it, and I was too cold to think about the consequences. There is an old Navy expression which says, “Beg forgiveness, not permission.” I hopped in and drove the cab back to my hotel. I did leave the fare on the seat.” - Jimmy

NO, Nicks got me nailed.

I'm in Boston. I would be at that club but I couldn't find where that bar/club is/was.

So I'm in a famous location related to both Buffett and sports.

Opps, almost missed this, no hockey game connection. You couldn't play hockey here.

No. Think more well known sports location. Unless you're a Parrothead you likely won't get the Buffet connection.

I am indeed. This photo was on the CD cover I was playing at a barbecue I was having last night when I found Shell.

I literally walked by my computer and saw Shell's answer and said I know where that is! Input my answer and went about taking ice out to the pool. The song "Boat Drinks" began to play and I just went with the location. Seemed to fit the evening since we were all having boat drinks and many were talking hockey, lot's of Canadians here. Kind of figured with the clues someone with the Google skills would find me before the evening ended.

Fins up! Nick.

Where ya headed?

Hurricane-

Some rum, usually dark
Fresh passion fruit juice
Splash of grenadine
Some lime juice
Ice, lots of ice

Throw it all in a blender.

I never measure anything. I just grab and pour until it looks right. But probably about 4 times the rum as the lime and fruit juices and the grenadine is just a splash.

Best if served before the ice melts.

I do too, esp. if I'm sitting at that bar.

At my gatherings my blender's usually put to good use but I mostly stick to rum and cokes myself. I've been told I make a good Margarita, Hurricanes and a number of Daiquiris and a Chocolate Monkey. One of the many, many positives of living here is there are coconut tress literally everywhere. Fresh coconut milk and fresh squeezed fruits can really make a drink.

As for life in Margaritavile, for me it's not that great. I've never really care much for tequila and based on what it does to me the next morning I'm guessing it hates me something serious. After moving down here I've had people tell me "no, you're drinking the wrong brand you need ___________." I've tried a bevy of "____________'s" and no they taste like tequila. I don't like tequila.

No and they don't have any rye either. Every Canadian that walks in asked for a whiskey and they want rye. They have several tequila's, rums, a couple vodkas, several liqueurs and that scotch. But no, no bourbons.

No, no, no, cheap tequila isn't even usually tequila. If I don't get 100% agave the result can be really bad.

And no I'd never play any thing up. Trust me my dogs wouldn't care.

Who invited you, anyway? ....j/k dear.

That might be the shortest stint yet, yes I'm in Tierra del Fuego...HEY WAIT! No I'm not in Tiera Del Fuego it's Tierra del Fuego! I doubt that angle will fly. Here's some cool pics of the place:

Tierra del Fuego (Spanish for "Land of Fire") is an archipelago 73,753 km2 (28,476 sq mi), off the southernmost tip of the South American mainland, across the Strait of Magellan. The southern point of the archipelago forms Cape Horn.

The archipelago consists of a main island (Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, often simply called Tierra del Fuego or Isla Grande) with an area of 48,100 km2 (18,572 sq mi), and a group of smaller islands. The main island is separated between two countries: 18,507.3 square kilometres (38.57% of total) belongs to Argentina, while 29,484.7 square kilometres (61.43% of total) belongs to Chile. Half of this island, and the islands west and south of it, are part of the Magallanes y Antártica Chilena Region, the capital and chief town of which is Punta Arenas, situated on the mainland across the strait. The biggest Chilean towns are Porvenir, capital of the Chilean Province of Tierra del Fuego, on the main island, and Puerto Williams, on Navarino Island, being the capital of the Antártica Chilena Province. Puerto Toro lies a few kilometers south of Puerto Williams and is the southernmost village in the world.

The eastern part of the archipelago belongs to Argentina, being part of the Tierra del Fuego, Antarctic Territory and South Atlantic Islands Province; its capital is Ushuaia, the biggest city of the archipelago. The other important city in the region is Río Grande on the Atlantic coast.

The Darwin Range ends in the Mount Bove; this range contains many glaciers that reach the ocean. Mount Darwin is the highest peak at 2,488 metres (8,163 ft).

Good fishing, too. A monster sea run brown trout caught on a light fly outfit by famous guide Alejandro Martello:

Yeah, we had a couple that were kind of designed to be gimmes, IMO. I know when I went with Fenway I was shooting for "easy." I almost put in Tierra del Fuego last night, woke up this morning and saw Shell's guess and thought "no, too obvious, can't be right."

Take your time... But don't be a dick and make it impossible.

Yeah there's a lot of tequila snobs in there parts. You're actually looking for something 100% Agave azul (Blue Agave) for the best tequila. It's not unheard of for top shelf, well aged 100% Agave azul tequila to go for several hundred dollars a bottle.

Myself I like rum. Flor de Cana, 8yrs to be exact.

Maybe we need to start (or find there's got to be one here somewhere I'm thinking) a "I'm a lush, the best drink is" thread?

I'll drink to that!

Regarding tequila, I still like it and went thru a few year period where it was my primary drink when bar hopping or at a party...back then (over 35 years ago!) it was much less available around here so it seemed that Jose Cuervo Especial Gold was the best I could buy in PA, I usually poured a tall glass about half full of ice a little more than half full of the tequila, topped off with a splash of 7up and a twist of lemon. It seemed to agree with me, less hangover issues than with other drinks.

Like with most trendy things, I was skeptical of how good Patron is or isn't but after hearing about it one too many times in hip-hop/rap songs that my two sons listen to, I tried it...and I was very surprised how smooth it is!

Tul, I don't know if I was a misguided tourista, but when I was in Cancun (damn that was 30 yrs ago, too!) I bought back a few bottles of a Sauza Conmemorativo tequila one of which I still have...like Tul suggested, this one is a golden anejo, aged tequila made from the heart of the blue agave and aged in oak barrels for up to four years. I really like this one, too.

OK, where in the world am I?

Sauza make several labels of varying quality. Not sure I've heard of the one you speak. My guess is it's pretty good stuff.

Tequila doesn't give me a headache as much as make me feel life less and feel like a swallowed a firecracker sometime during the evening. Doesn't matter if I have two or eight, same effect. Plus I simply don't care for the taste. But maybe that's a Pavlov's dogs thing?

Ok, NH?

so yes ^ WH.

I may have admitted this before, but I pretty much like anything almost anyone would call edible and many things most people would not call edible. So I love caviar but feel bad for the sturgeons, so I'm glad they are now selling similar tasting domestically farmed and sustainable varieties. Yummm...a spoon of caviar, a little chopped raw onion, a little chopped hardboiled egg, a nice toasty cracker or piece of bread, and wash it down with a good vodka.
