Not the green shack, not Spanish Wells which is on the north end of the island. As I said, I'm ~10 miles south of unc's previous guess of Ocean Hole.

not one of the little out islands...though my friend has a gorgeous place on Harbour Island that I've been to and aspire to retire there...if only he'd see it my way

I'm on the main part of Eleuthera Island. I'll throw out another clue to give you a window into my devious mind:

not in any cave or hole and I'm standing on dry land but I can see water to the left of me and water to the right of me. I did give you a pretty damn good clue above.

BINGO! so you're up, unc.

I believe that the Glass Window is actually the only place where the Atlantic coast continental shelf reaches up on to dry land from the ocean. That little land strip is actually the top of the continental shelf.

I remember standing there on that narrow strip of land with the continental shelf dropping off into the Atlantic Ocean on the one side to many thousands of feet, and the turquoise blue/green bay/reef on the other side...and it was such a cool sight and feeling. Even the thought of falling into the ocean side gave me a touch of vertigo and I think I was leaning toward the shallow side the whole time.
