Are you in Oregon?
Hey Nick, the Flight Deck is one of my favorites. As I kid my dad would take me out to breakfast there every year for my birthday. Later on as a paperboy in Salem I sold the most new subscriptions one time and won a 45 min ride in a Cesnna. I was 12-13 and the pilot let me steer it around for a while. Those two things probably had a lot to do with me getting my private license years later. After I got my licenses I flew down there from Astoria one year to meet my dad there for breakfast on his birthday. Turns out the boy brother's roommate's girlfriend from years ago was, maybe still is, the manager. Small world. |
Tul, I just stumbled on that Flight Deck info but it sounded like a neat place that I would like and I'm sure gd "should" be there whether she knows it or not...that's an interesting story you have about it, and nice memories.

Mt. Hood
|
Nope and nope.
I was jumping for joy, but I have landed along with the thing Im looking at. |
Well, I've been searching balloon rides, blimp rides, rides on lawnchairs lifted by helium balloons ...but nothing ...except this just popped into my head:
Are you at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon?....home of the Spruce Goose? ...your cryptic allusions to grey and vodka made me think "goose" or "she's nuts" so I went with the goose ;) http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2.../museum_sg.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...tPropsleft.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0am%20I/22.jpg Models comparing the Spruce Goose to a DC-3: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...cegoosedc3.jpg Now, now? ...can I belt down a nice cold shot of straight vodka? ...Na Zdrowie! |
Thats right. In McMinnville you can see the Goose, and drink the Goose. I saw the Spruce Goose arrive at its hanger, coming right down the street.
Youre up, badboy! |
damn, I'm impressed that you're there, gd. That's one cool plane. I bet Tul tells us he flew it back in the day ;)
OK, where the hell am I this time? |
