Panchgani ...ahhh Freddy Mercury!
In 1954, at the age of eight, Mercury was sent to St. Peter's School, a boarding school for boys in Panchgani near Bombay (now Mumbai), India. At school, he formed a popular school band, called The Hectics, for which he played the piano. A friend from the time recalls that he had "an uncanny ability to listen to the radio and replay what he heard on piano." It was also at St. Peter's where he began to call himself "Freddie". Mercury remained in India for most of his childhood, living with his grandmother and aunt. He completed his education in India at St. Mary's ISC -Mumbai |
Nick you got it. This is where Freddie learned to play the piano. He was born in Zanzibar but his parent were Indian and well to do. Panchgani is the boarding school capitol of India. It's also where many outdoor shots of Bollywood films are done.
You up. |
wow, after all the fumbles I got it. I really like that some more of us are into this game now (hi Shell with an "e" :) ) but my brain hasn't adapted to assimilating the increased data...probably need more RAM
OK, where in the world am I this time? This place was in the news a few days ago...I'll get the exact day as a clue after I look it up to be sure. According to new reports like http://english.aljazeera.net/Media/Images/AJILogo.jpg this town was in the news on July 9th...which was my dear sister's and my best friend Pete's birthday though that fact has nothing to do with where I am. |

unc, when I first said "yes" in this post it was yes to "island nation" but now the way your question is, the answer is no, I'm not in a two island nation.
