I'm liking this new strategy of mine- wait for all the hard work to be done then swoop in for the kill. For the record I've been very busy of late. Been on the road for nearly two weeks and now I'm in the middle moving unexpectedly. I'm only moving a few miles but there's a lot involved due to a multitude of reasons.

So with that in mind- Where am I?

I really meant to post something but kept getting side track. Was suppose to be home and getting ready to bunker down for the up coming heat. April and May can be brutal here. Now I've agreed to take on a friends house, sort of house- sit sort of rent. Basically half rent, so last minute move.

Hey, remember when I was in that big hangar? Well today I was reading the latest Road & Track magazine and they have a monthly "road test" featured article and this month they "road tested" the Zeppelin NT N704LZ Eureka...how cool!!! It's housed across from that hangar #1 Tul mentioned, near San Fran. This blimp is big! You can fit an entire Airbus A380 inside the pressure envelope....and to follow up on my wish above, it is fitted with a gondola cabin for passengers and an outfit is giving aerial tours of the area in this Zeppelin.... no doubt I'll do this if I'm near Cali Airship Ventures

Interesting point though. 180 runs from Cancun to Merida and then hooks north to Progreso, which is where I live (not where I'm at BTW,) but most maps I see have the Hwy from Merida to Progreso listed as 261. The road itself has a bunch of 180 signs on it.

Are you in the Cuzamá cenotes? Hey Tul, do you ever dive in the cenotes? I've always fantasized about diving in there and finding priceless treasures that may have been jewelry worn by Mayan human sacrifices thrown into the cenotes.

Yes I do dive cenotes. One of the certs I'm currently working on is a cavern diver cert. Cenote diving is unlike any other diving. It can be dangerous if you don't follow the "rules." The main one being no more then 200ft from the surface and always have daylight in view. There's a odd effect known as 'Halocline." It occurs where the cool fresh water of the surface meets the deeper saltwater. The colors are nothing short of fantastic. I have friends coming in April for three days, we'll only be diving cenotes. Since I don't have the cert. yet we'll be hiring a guide.

While that not where I'm at I have done the donkey train at Cuzamá several times. It's on the list of "must sees" for gringos when then have family and friends in from out of town. That rail in the picture is single. Know how they get it to be a round trip? There's two trains when they meet one driver pushes his car off the tracks then back on.

Are you at cenote San Joaquín?

I noticed this after picking this spot. Now that we've figured out I'm floating in a cenote let me just say this one gets it's picture taken a lot. Maybe more then any other in the Yucatan.

Nope. For the record there's about 3-4 San Joaquín cenotes here. Same thing with the name San Ignacio, there one just about everywhere.

Cenote Dzitnup? ...I'm guessing based on this note I found: Cenote Dzitnup, an immense vaulted cavern in the middle of the Yucatán Peninsula, is a strange and otherworldly tourist trap
