I think it's broked.

mrklixx 10-27-2007 12:19 PM

Maybe if I jiggle this wire a little bit.

Ourcrazymodern? 10-27-2007 12:26 PM

It's broken.

mrklixx 10-27-2007 01:17 PM

So the question is, do I take it apart and try and fix it myself, take it to a repair shop, or buy a brand new or used one? Or should I just stop using it altogether?

Get a refund.

Take it apart and fiddle with it. Even if you can't fix it, it's fun to fiddle with things.

I think that fiddling with it might be what broke it in the first place. My momma always said if I played with it too much, I may break it.

Rotating things may help...sometimes. Hittings things tend to intensify the malfunction. Why can't I remember that?

It looks just like a Telefunken U-47...with leather.

Did you take it apart first? Taking it apart improperly can easily lead to breakages. But fiddling alone should be okay.

maybe it's a loose plate or grid? If you shake it into just the right position, it might stay on ...until next time it moves.

Perhaps unknown to my Hero Frank Z but now available from wiki ...the microphone was actually made by Neumann and was distributed by Telefunken with replacement nameplate, in addition to being sold under the Neumann name.

"The devil went down to Georgia, he was lookin' for a soul to steal:
He was in a bind 'cuz;
He was way behind:
He was lookin' to make a deal.

He came upon this YOUNG MAN sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot;
The devil jumped up on a hick'ry stump and said "Boy, let me tell you what...""

This thing is on, whatever it is. Maybe Tilted Technology could help?
