Hate to say the I disagree with WK's assessment.

I do find the ad particularly funny. I'm not sure that the guy realized what might happen if he issued that ultimatum. Gotta be careful what you ask for. Or in this case, he needed to be sure what the response would be.

From a personal perspective, right now I am down on cats. I am fighting the losing battle to keep them from using my new landscaping as their litter box.

Cats have two good uses: as targets or as missles.

My ex- had a rule -- a new cat every year we weren't married. Three cats later -- I'm out the door and better off for it... 'cause she had to keep the cats!!

I love both types of animals.

I'm a big dog kind of person. If it's under 80 pounds, it's a barkbox on stilts to me. Wrotweilers, boxers, pits, and especially German Shepherds are the dogs for me. Not too big on pincers because they're pretty high-strung.

On the other hand, I seem to always bond with my friends' cats, but only the grey ones. It's strange. I have four different friends with cats I love, and they're all grey, and have pretty much the same personalities. Grey persians have to be my favorite cats, though they do tend to shed quite a bit.

I figure when I get my own place after I get my degree (3 years weeeeeeeeee), I'll get myself a pre-trained shepherd and a lowkey persian. While cats may be the "emotionally superior and independent" pet, there's nothin like havin a great dog to run around and wrestle with. Call me a sap, but that's where it's at.

I like cats, but I don't think I could deal with more than 2 (maybe 3) in a house. They MUST BE LITTER BOX TRAINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
