Please feel free to post your rants (or raves) regarding any marketing (local or national/international) (print, radio, TV, etc...) that make you question/think/laugh/cry etc...

I need to start with a rant-
All of the car/SUV/truck ads that show wildly irresponsible driving! And they always have the small print on one scene stating: "Professional driver on closed course. Do not attempt." Yeah, right!
I see people every day on I-5 attempting the same! Am I alone in this?

Any others?

Well, the fine print in car commercials (your example aside richeee- at least I can read that) drives (heh) me crazy. Often nearly a full screen's worth of the tiniest print ever printed. So clearly, obviously impossible to read. Unless you tape the ad, freeze frame it, and whip out your microscope.
What really bothers me is that I think legally they are required to print that info, for us, the consumers. Why else would they bother doing it. So the info is for our protection, really, and yet, they're allowed to make it illegible. Grrr.

I hate when you're watching a sporting event/whatever and the same bloody ad comes up every break... just plain fucking annoying. I always make a point to never buy whatever they are selling...

Oh sure...just come drive the Deerfoot in Calgary....the I5 is worse but if you wanna see some stupid people just come on over and drive our main highway....jesh!

Anyone seen that stupid AT&T go phone commercial? I can't stand it. I cringe every time they embarass The Ramones.

Grrrrr... I saw that tonight, Joey must be turning in his grave. I hate it as much as any commercial that uses "Lust for Life".
Or those Pop Tarts commercials, with the idiot kid that says "Baaaammmmm!"
Prescription drug ads that spend so much time describing the side effects and dangers of the drug that they don't have enough time to explain what the drug is for bug me too.

Yea rockZ, using Ramones or Iggy songs (and many more ) should be outlawed!
"Lust For Life"??? Yeah, a song about a junkie makes me wanna book a10 day cruise!!! (anyone remember the GOP wanting to use Bruce Springsteen and "Born In The USA"?!?!)

and the drug ads--- the side effects sometimes sound worse than what they are "cureing"!

I hate it when you finish watching a movie on commercial t.v. and you want to find out an actors name in the credits or listen to the closing song, but the channel starts running ads off to the side, partially obscuring the names and/or the song, it just boils my blood! bastids! :mad:

Yeah, that's another major bitch, but then again, it is "commercial" TV!!
Goes along with the myriad of crawls and CG boxes all over the newscasts- on a 27" screen, the actual news item must be down to 5" x 7" !!
