Just went to our first Toronto FC game last night - felt more like being at a game in the north of England or Scotland given A) the amazing atmosphere of the fans, and B) the rather damp and chilly weather coming in off Lake Ontario last night!

But to everyone who has even a faint interest in sport, go to see a Toronto FC game. There are no bad seats in the place, the joint is jumping and you'll have a great time at less cost than seeing the Leafs or Raptors.

amazing how quickly the new exhibition stadium (BMO Place?) was built... By comparison, the new Varsity stadium is moving at a snail's pace. Think there will be other functions at that venue? concerts? What will be there during the CNE?

It's good to hear that the FC has a hearty fan following.

I think the Genesis concert later this year is booked for BMO field, so yeah, there will be other events in the off season at least.

The stands are pretty basic, but what more do people need? It's not like anyone sat down during the game anyway! The only failing of the place is that the concourse area - where you buy concessions and find the washrooms - is too small. At half time you literally could not move in there for the crush of people.

Oh, and the TTC sucks. Next time, I'm driving.

I can remember seeing Genesis play Exhibition Stadium back in the 80s.

My Mom's husband and my uncle went to see the Toronto FC play in their first winning match. They said they had a blast (or at least that what we were able to interpret, their voices were shot from chanting and shouting so much).
