It would have led her to the Wicked Witch.

I think that if she had followed the red brick road she would have ended up running into a Lewis Carroll story about a girl named Alice.

What...not an option!
They would have made up a new song and everything. That would have ruined the whole movie. Of course, the red brick road would have led her home I think. OR....I think she would have had better luck on the red brick road because it matched the shoes. I bet she would've gotten to the Wizard quicker with the red road. I think that the munchkins and the 'Good' witch were just getting their kicks sending her on the yellow brick road because they were bored.

Maguire has written several retellings of fairy tales, having since done Cinderella from the POV of one of the stepsisters, and Snow White moved to the Borgias' Italy. There's a sequel to Wicked, Son of a Witch which isn't quite as good, but still worth the read. --------------- I'm not on no yellow brick road Got a mind and a heart and guts of my own I'm not looking for one to set me free I'm not on no yellow brick road I'll find my own way home I'm just looking for someone To walk with me Kris Delmhorst, "Yellow Brick Road"

The red brick road led straight to the good witch of the North, after starting off curlicue. How good can they be when they misdirect innocent little girls?

I think it would have lead her to Oz still, but her experiences would have been different. Maybe she would have realized sooner that to get home she just had to wish for it, but maybe not. She probably would have met different characters and possibly even the wicked witch along the way. Maybe that was the road they sent the people they didn't like down. Ya know since Dorothy saved them from the Wicked Witch of the East, so they sent her down the yellow brick road.

...they changed the story to make the movie, but it became a damn fine movie, didn't it? (tongue-in-cheek): Good witches aren't necessarily better than bad witches, are they?
