Help an Aussie
Hey there Canadians,
I'm an Aussie from Sydney and am heading up to Whistler early Feb for some *REAL* snow. Anyway, I tried to book airfare a few days ago and there's no availability left on the Vancouver > Sydney route for the dates I intended leaving Vancouver. My options are to either fork out and extra $450CDN for a more expensive airfare, or spend that $450CDN on accomodation in Vancouver and staying an extra week where the flights back to Sydney are available. Can you guys recommend where I can get cheap accomodation for approximately a week for around $450CDN? Doesn't have to be fancy, but it's gotta be safe, clean etc. Cheers.

60 bucks a night?!? That's tough. Really tough. Nowhere (safe and clean) that I can think of would advertise a rate like that. But a quick check of hotwire.com shows a 3-star hotel downtown for $60US. With taxes, fees and exchange $450 will get you 6 nights.
