I missed 6 on the first one. (coliseum, misspell, perseverance, irascible, liaison, and septuagenarian)

Man, 6 wrong on the second one, too. (Dalmation, sacrilegious, liquefy, battalion, conscientious, and inoculate)

4 wrong on the third test. (desiccate, chocolaty, propagate, and tariff)

I missed 3 on the first test. I've never even heard Septuagenarian used before. Judgment and Perseverance were the other two.

Second test I missed six: flabbergast, plagiarize, liquefy, sacrilegious, battalion and chauvinism. At least I didn't miss Misspell. :)

I missed relevant, septuagenarian, coliseum, prominent, judgment, irascible, misspell, and mischievous. This is why I have spellcheck on my email and IM clients. :)

I got 7 wrong on the first quiz and 5 wrong on the second quiz. I figure my average would be 6 for all quizzes.

I had 5 7 3 6 6 wrong...

15 wrong on the first.... Then I gave up. Gotta love spell check. The thing is I could probably spell those words if dictated, and I just wrote them. Having two spellings make you second guess.

6, 7, 7, 6, 5 - I did better if I didn't think about it too long, just picked them as I read them.

11 out of 50 not bad for me.

2 on the 1st - judgment, harass

5 on the 2nd - battallion, coolly, occurred, liquefy, inoculate

3 on the 3rd - chocolaty, desiccate, insistent

4 on the 4th - aficionado, embarrass, maneuver, deterrence

2 on the 5th - bellwether, accommodate

I got snafu right though, whatever that is!!! Lol

I'm pretty pleased as I'm not even a native english speaker :p

Much better than I thought. Makes me feel better that I haven't completely forgotten EVERYTHING I learned in school.

1 on the first - harass
1 on the second - inoculate
2 on the third - desiccate & CHOCOLATY (which I should be flogged for considering how addicted to the stuff I am)
2 on the fourth - millennium & aficionado
3 on the fifth - inadvertent, bellweather (which I don't even know the meaning of) & supersede

I only did the first and got 8 wrong, really disappointing! And there was me thinking I could spell, ah well.

No mistakes, but I am a) an English teacher and b) something of a freak when it comes to spelling .

That's a fun little test.

Snafu is an acronym of Situation Normal, All Fucked Up (probably actually all 'fouled' up), supposedly through the military, that became a word meaning a glitch in operations or procedures, ie; 'we were fixing the car, but ran into a snafu with the brakes'.

I got 3 wrong in the first one, 2 in the second, totally missed about 5 in the 3rd because I wasn't paying attention.:rolleyes:
