Happy Birthday, Canada!
A toast to the old girl, she's still got great legs after 139 years!
|
...and she has... HUGE tracts of land!
Happy Canada Day everyone! I am spending my last full day with my son before he goes off to camp and I go off to Singapore. Breakfast at our local followed by a trip to the AGO... What are you guys doing today? |
A big salute to the north of the boarder.
Happy Day to all Canadians! I will raise a glass to you! Maybe quite a few! |
Happy Canada Day.
Let's get drunk, eh. |
Happy Canada Day to you all...

Just relaxing till tonight then going over to a friends place who has a great view of the park in town where they do the fireworks so we'll have some beers, listen to some tunes and watch the fireworks. |
Happy Canada Day, eh.
May you all get drunk, eat too much, and avoid blowing off your arms with fireworks. |
Dinner with my cousin and a long time friend of mine - if there's a restaurant that's open that we can agree on.
Then, hopefully, Ashbridge's Bay for the Fireworks. |

A cake to our friendly neighbors to the North. Mi contenent is su contenent. |
street collection netted $585 for fireworks. set off in the middle of our road. Combined bbq's for homemade burgers and pulled pork, lots of beer, wine, margaritas and sangria.
It's still going on (2 AM). A couple of teenagers played Oh Canada on their electric guitars (al a Jimi Hendrix) before the fireworks. We have one neighbour from Texas, so we played the American anthem too. |
I celebrated by being in Rochester and observing a bunch of Americans... and celebrating that I wasn't one of them!!! HAHAHA just joking. These guys are great. They should actually get their own country's celebration date in July. Yeah that'd be amazing.
It'll never happen, though. |
...and if they did, it would just be a tawdry copy-cat affair.
Don't worry aberkok, you will be back in the arms of Canada before you know it. |
Ok, did anyone else think that the fireworks at Ashbridges Bay were lame last night.
I went down with my friend and it was over before you knew it. And where was the grand send off, you know, the boom, boom, boom, that signals the end. Sigh. |

It was a day of contrasts. |

We ended up watching the show from Leslie Street, just west of the water treatment plant... not the best of views. I want to find the city official that decided it was a good idea to close access to the spit. What a fricken moron. :| |
I did nothing all day...nice.
I hope you all had a good time. |
