I wonder if it's the same guy...http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=103073
Cause the original guy did make his count - but the website seems to be dead

I guess it could be I didn't see the other one - the site names are pretty similar as well - still, I'm quite amazed to see the counter going up so quickly (I received the link in one of those FW: emails - I don't normally pay any attention, but this one seemed kind of - genuine) It's about an hour since I posted the link and the count has already gone up to 250,000 (assuming that's genuine too)

maleficent I thought of the same thing, the other site www.helpwinmybet.com was up a few minutes ago but now it's down again.
The whole thing is pretty much the same: text and layout. I wonder what the story behind it is.

OK here is what I have found out so far.
helpwinMYbet.com - The "who is" info is kind of hidden. Not much info in there but I don't really know if that indicates anything. the domain was created on 12-Mar-2006 the first post on the site says April 6th. helpwinTHISbet.com - The "who is" has more info but says that the domain was created on 04-06-2006 while the first posting says March 14th. Different counters are being used. The hosting companies are different. I wonder if one of them is real. I hope that one is real - I thought it was a really funny story. Can anyone find anything else out

Bah, this reminds me of Geraldo and Al Capone's Vault. How disappointing.
There probably was an actual bet or challenge around the number of hits he could get, but the story is probably a sham - made up to get him the numbers he needs. Stupid internet.

I think that this one (http://www.helpwinmybet.com/) is the original and the one posted above is a copycat, but why trust any of them.
Am am going back often to see the updates. If nothing else it is good entertainment.
