woah. that's a lot of trouble to go through for that. I figure its' got the base image of the girl with the blank sign, then checks your ip address for the city, writes it out, makes a JPG out of it, then automatically inserts it over the sign. . .
What program would you use to do that? Surely a porn site isn't writing their own code. |

"I love Memphis"
That's werid, I'm in Calgary but it kinda makes sense considering that this computer belongs to FedEx which is headquartered in Memphis

Anyone know the technology behind this? I seems like a static image if you go directly to the document root.. but its very dynamic.... she's got a quite a few too, if you switch the iloveit#.jpg.
Anybody? I wanna do this

I understand that it was IP geolocation, but my question was how the JPG was being dynamically created with the new information. However, I googled a bit this morning for "dynamic JPG" and found out there's quite a few ways to do it. The easiest, it seems, is relying on UNIX's ability to send a cgi program under whatever name it wants. When you type the .jpg, that filename is actually calling a CGI program which generates the JPG and returns a JPG MIME type to the browser. It's not actually an address of the file, but a function call. Kinda neat.
At least thats how I understood it.

Wanna see what I mean about iloveit.jpg being a CGI program that inserts a JPG rather than the file itself? Fuck up the file name.
http://images.brookeskye.com/mypics/iloveid2t.jpg Look at that shit! Someone needs to learn how to error trap.. Might autofix it, just throw more random characters in..
