IMDB Top 10 Movie Linkage Game

EDIT: I've changed the rules slightly at Charlatan's suggestion. Now the top 10 movie which is to be linked to is also specified as part of the challenge.
Also only connections that are listed on imdb are allowed.

We start with a person listed on imdb.com and a movie which is one of the top 10 rated movies. The challenge is then to link the person to the movie, via other movies and people which are linked on imdb.

E.g. If the challenge was "Joel Coen and The Shawshank Redemption", you might post:

Joel Coen directed 'The Hudsucker Proxy'
'The Hudsucker Proxy' starred Tim Robbins
Tim Robbins starred in 'The Shawshank Redemption'
'The Shawshank Redemption' is rated #2 in the top 10.

Like the other games in nonsense, after you post a solution, you post a new movie/person.

The only legal links are those on imdb.com. After a solution is posted it should be possible to start at the person on imdb and click your way through the specified links to the movie.

For reference the top 10 movies are:
1. The Godfather (1972)
2. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
3. The Godfather: Part II (1974)
4. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
5. Shichinin no samurai (1954)
6. Schindler's List (1993)
7. Casablanca (1942)
8. Pulp Fiction (1994)
9. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
10. Star Wars (1977)

Ok. We'll start with a rather challenging one. Connect Uwe Boll to a top 10 movie.

(BTW: I was initally skeptical as to whether it was actually possible to do it with 'Uwe Boll'. I did it. So it is possible. Just in case you were worried! )

I'll take this one....and I'll try to make it challenging for myself.
Rita to Samurai.....
Rite Hayworth was in The Lady from Shanghai with Orson Welles (one of my favorites). Orson Welles played Le Chiffre in the Casino Royale spoof by Woody Allen. Woody Allen directed Melinda and Melinda with Will Ferrell. Will Ferrell was SNL with Rob Schneider (I really wanted him to be in here somewhere). Rob Schneider was in Judge Dredd with Armand Assante. Armand Assante was in "Prophecy", driected by John Frankenheimer. John Frankenheimer directed a movie called "Challenge" (1982), in which the instructor was played by Yoshio Inaba....who was Gorobei Katayama in Shichinin no samurai.

I've got one for you. Connect Star Trek the motion Picture with one of the top 10 movies.....

Farrah Fawcett to Star Wars then.

The beautiful and talented Farrah Fawcett...was in Dr. T and the Women with Richard Gere. Richard Gere was in Unfaithful with Diane Lane. Diane Lane was in Judge Dredd with Rob Schneider (I think I'll put him in all my linkages). Rob Schneider was on SNL with Will Ferril, who stared next to none other than Mark Hamill in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back....and Mark Hamill was Luke Skywalker in episodes 4-6 of Star Wars.

Farrah Fawcett to TLOTR: The Return of the King

Farrah Fawcett was in The Cannonball Run with Burt Reynolds, who was in The Longest Yard remake with Adam Sandler. Sandler starred with Rob Schneider in (hundreds of films). Rob Schneider was in the Hot Chick as Rachel McAdams. McAdams was in Red Eye with Brian Cox (another of my favorites),who was in Bourne Supremacy with Karl Urban....who played Eomer in the Second and third LOTR movies.

Let's try something different....

From Justin to Kelly

From Justin to Kelly was directed by Robert Iscove who also directed She's All That which featured Kevin Pollack who was in the Usual Suspects with Kevin Spacey, who starred in The Negotiator with Samuel L. Jackson who also starred in Pulp Fiction.

Okay, let's go back a few years and give Jimmy Stewart a shot.

Judging on how quickly JumpinJesus did that one, I suspect that none of these will be impossible.

Alright, James Stewart. JS was in It's a Rear Window, which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Hitchcokcs last work, Family Plot, featured William Devane. William Devane was in Hollow Man with Kevin Bacon (didn't this game used to be called six degrees of Kevin Bacon? Of well). Bacon was in Beauty Shop with Queen Latifa, who was in Taxi (the American remake) with Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy was on SNL with Rob Schneider. Schneider was in Eight Crazy Nights with Tyra Banks (she was a voice talent). Tyra was in Coyote Ugly with John Goodman, who was in King Ralph with Peter O'Tool. P dog was in Troy with Orlando Bloom. But TLOTR is too easy, so Orlando was in Kingdom of Heaven with Liam Neeson...who was Oskar Schindler in Schindler's List.

Next person or movie to connect: Konstantin Khabensky of NightWatch fame.

Did someone say Matthew McConaughey?

He was in A Time to Kill with Samuel L. Jackson. The rest is stated in the preceding post (Samuel L. Jackson was in Pulp Fiction which is #8)

Since that was so easy, let's take a different path. Matthew McConaughey was in Amistad which was directed by Steven Spielberg who also directed Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade which was partly written by George Lucas who also wrote and directed Star Wars (#10).

No one said it had to be American actors, so for a little challenge (and, actually, it's pretty easy if you know how to start)....

I'd call that one step (If the actor was in one of the films it would be no steps).

Vanessa Paradis is married to Johnny Depp. Depp was in Once Upon a Time in Mexico directed by Robert Rodriquez. Rodriquez has worked on tons of stuff with Quentin Tarrantino. Tarrantino did Pulp Fiction.

Yul Brynner was in "the Magic Christian" where he played a "Transvestite cabaret singer" which is exactly the role that Cillian Murphy plays in "Breakfast on Pluto" . Cillian Murphy was in "Batman Begins" with Liam Neeson. Liam Neeson played a gay cowboy in "Schindlers List"

I think we need to change the rules.

I propose that the rules be that we name an actor and the film in the top ten to which we would like to see the link made.

For Example:

I post:
Willie Aames -- Lord of the Rings

Willravel's anwser would be:
Willie Aemes was in an episode of The Odd Couple, which stared Tony Randall. Tony was in Fatal Instinct with Armand Assante. He was in Striptease with Demi Moore. Moore was in G.I. Jane with Viggo Mortensen, who was Aragorn in TLOTR.

I could also have posted, Willie Aames -- The Godfather. I think this might make the game a little more interesting and perhaps a little tougher.

What do you guys think?
