Well, if anyone was interested to know what happens to a person who has been cheated on by her husband and publicly humiliated for 10 years, look no further than the shell of a person that is Simone Warne. When it came to her turn to dance on Daryl Somers' show last night, the total lack of confidence was there for all to see. And just in case anyone missed it, she reinforced it by constantly talking about how 'unsexy' she believes she is. The icing on the cake was an averge score of 3.5/10 for her routine.

When each new story about Fat Warnie's filandering has come out, we've all rolled our eyes and perhaps even had a laugh. Maybe it's because of my love for the game and admiration for Shane Warne the bowler, but after seeing the human cost of that behaviour last night, I must admit I'm feeling a bit differently about it all.

Shane Warne is a great bowler, like I give a shit however, he is a horrid man and deserves no respect from anyone.

Throwing a red ball well doesn't make him any less culpable for his actions than anyone else.

Could you be reading too much into it, Meri? I mean...if she lacked that much confidence, she wouldn't be appearing out of her comfort zone on national TV, in addition to featuring in almost every women's mag imaginable talking about her marriage break-up. And if he damaged her that much, there would be no way she would allow him to still reside in the matrimonial home, as he presently does.

She was as nervous as hell....as they all were, including Grant Denyer, who appears on TV every day!

Now I don't condone what he did. Just making observations.



PS: Darryl Somers is still Australia's biggest fuckwit.

Haven't seen her on TV... but she appeared rather good-looking in pics. She should get out more... (probably difficult when you have kids) and perhaps change her name back to something less recognizable.

On Warnes behaviour... Well look. He's clearly a great bowler. Nobody should take that away from him because he cheated on his wife. What he did was wrong - but there are so many cheaters out there, it's not something to condemn a person for.

I'm not saying we should stone him to death, nor should there be any kind of financial, legal or professional penalties levelled against him because he hasn't done anything illegal. He is however a moral pygmy and just as I think his cheating ought not influence whatever we might think about him as a cricketer, nor should his cricketing influence our indictment of him as a serial philanderer...

I could be reading too much into it, but her actions are entirely predictable and right out of chapter 1 of the psychology textbook. Won't bore you with the theory, but I'll use the analagy of that classic scenario of going into a relationship 'on the rebound'. A person has been dumped and feels deeply hurt, so what do they do? Throw themselves straight into a situation where they are vulnerable to getting smashed again. Why? Because of the irrational belief that this is a potential means to restoring that shattered confidence and self esteem. Of course, this is a neurotic coping pattern (ie. one that gets repeated over and over despite the fact it doesn't work) because the person's dismantled self esteem creates an expectation of failure, which invariably becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy (see Simone's performance the other night). Oops - promised I wouldn't bore you with the theory. Sorry El.

The very little bit of "Dancing..." that I've seen while running out of the room, looks like a car crash. It is really bad but people can't help but peer in.

he does the weather on channel seven in sydney in the mornings with melissa doyle and david koshe. he's sorta similar to the tim bailey type..except this guys actually funny sometimes.

as for kate langbrooke..i have no idea how anyones going since i rarely have time to watch tv.

I'm just trying to be practical.

My observations have let to the view that the end of most relationships comes about because of one or the other partners has cheated, to a lesser or greater degree. For example, many relationships start before the last one has been ended.

I've seen some amazing stats on "cheating" (of which there are clearly different types) - and it also seems that many influential musicians, scientists, thinkers, politicians are on record as having a history of cheating or messing around in a way that makes me suspicious.

So, out of practicality, I seperate the moral judgement from other areas. As I say too - I have been friends with people who've cheated. There's not much that can be done really. Generally, I just add a mental note and continue to deal with the person.
