EyeSeePeeDude's Meat Lasagna

1 - box lasagna noodles (12 count)
1 - 1½ lb. ground beef
1 - 8 oz. package shredded mozzarella cheese
1 - 8 oz. package shredded parmesan cheese
2 - 8 oz. package shredded cheddar cheese
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
8 cups pasta sauce
½ cup sugar

Bring approx. 2 quarts water to a boil along with salt and vegetable oil. When at a hard boil add the lasagna noodles, reduce heat and cook until soft, but not quite done, being careful not to break the noodles. In a separate pot, combine the sauce with the sugar and heat till warm. In yet another pan, cook the ground beef, seasoning to taste. When the meat is done cooking, drain any fat and then add the meat to the sauce mixture. Preheat the oven to 350°. Once noodles are cooked and drained and the sauce mixture is warm, combine all the cheeses into a large bowl. Have all three ready before moving on. Using a 13 x 9 casserole dish, spread a thin layer of sauce, enough to cover the bottom. Then place three noodles side by side to create the first layer. Next place a thin layer of sauce to cover the noodles, a layer of the cheese mixture, and then noodles again. Repeat twice more, giving you three layers. Cook at 350° for about 1 hour. Best served with garlic bread.

Serves 4 - 8

in my opinion nothing can beat homemade lasagna

Ah hey, thanks dude.

My girlfriend has this strange aversion to Ricotta cheese. I'm not exactly sure why, but we can use this recipe - I'll get my lasagna and she won't have to have ricotta. Thanks.

I'm not much of a ricotta fan either :) This stuff comes out great without it though. Best of luck... (*tell me how you like it*)

I made this recipe this past weekend (finally) for my girlfriend and her friend. It was easy to make (bonus) and IS best served with garlic bread.

Big hit, eyeseepeedude. Thanks.
