Amazing Won Ton soup... from a packet!
Martel and I LOVE wonton soup- with a passion! While at the asian mart a bit ago, we picked up some wonton soup packets, thinking they'd probably make a pretty decent soup. I was a bit skeptical, since I generally don't trust pre mixed soup to come out as good as homemade.
Well, tonight we made the soup, and it was the BEST wonton soup I've had anywhere! Oh, it was sooo goood! It's Dynasty brand Won Ton Soup Base Mix. I made it with 2&3/4 cup chicken stock (canned organic) and five more cans of water, so that would be about nine and 3/4 cups of water, and i used two and a half sauce packets (the package says to use one packet per three cups water, but I think that it would have made it a little strong if I had). I also cut up some Shitake mushrooms and let them simmer. I made wontons following Alton Brown's Perfect Potstickers Recipie (which also makes KILLER potstickers- I use chopped red onion). Ohhh man... we ate about 3/4 of the pot! Anyway, thought I'd share in case any of y'all like wonton soup but don't feel up for making it from scratch!

Sage we love pot stickers, never made them by hand. We buy them from the Schwan Man.(frozen home delivery) Makes it expensive. Also buy from Wal-Mart. Not nearly as good.
What I want is a few good dippin sauces for them...Got any? If you come up with some I'll try Alton's recipe.

well, the chineese resturant that Martel and I love uses soy sauce, garlic, green onion, and probably a little hot chili oil- simmers it for a while before serving. Also, check out www.soyvay.com - they make our FAVORITE teryaki sauce- we have used that for dipping potstickers in and it's yum yum yum!

I always dip my potstickers in Yoshida sauce. If you have a Costco near you, you have Yoshida sauce, I'm sure, and since Heinz bought them, they're everywhere.
