Mixing Cereals Together
I know there's a cereal thread, but this topic wasn't explored very well in that one, so I thought I'd open up discussion. So which cereals do y'all like to mix together into new combinations and maybe even more importantly, why? I'll start off. My favourite combination is Multi-Grain Cheerios mixed in even parts with Life cereal. I think I discovered it once when I only had enough in each box for half a bowl. Then it hit me. If I mixed the two boxes together, I'd have a whole bowl.
Now I think the reason this flavour's so compelling is because the Cheerios take the sometimes too sweet edge off of the Life. The near chewiness of the Life is also tempered by the long lasting crunch of the Cheerios. Please discuss your favourites.

In my house, most of the time all that is ever left in a box of cereal is half a bowl. So normally I just throw whatever we have together and eat it up without second though. But your combination sounds pretty good, I might have to try that sometime.

It's fun even to just imagine the combinations, let alone try them!

I do this all of the time....Anything with cocoa puffs is good....frosted mini wheats and corn flakes is also a favorite...but eat fast before both get too soggy

I don't consider topping cereals with fruit to violate the purity of this thread idea. In fact, come to think of it, some fruit would really help take the edge off of some of these potentially too sugary combinations.
Good call. Perhaps we should extend the scope of this thread to "cereal recipes."

Here's a healthy one: Special K and Crispix. The combo of textures is really nice.
Has anyone seen this: http://www.cereality.com/ ? I'm dying to visit one if I'm ever nearby.

Flunked - there's a Cereality at the student union of my university - Apparently the original location - I absolutely love the place, although i tend to stick more with the yogurt parfaits - still with fresh fruit - than the cereal since it's less messy. Ours is always busy, no matter the time of day

I love Product 19 with Life cereal or another lightly sweet grain cereal. I'd live on Product 19 if I could. It is the most delicious thing in the world. On top of that:
Very low in saturated fat Very high in iron Very high in niacin Very high in pantothenic acid Very high in riboflavin Very high in thiamin High in vitamin A Very high in vitamin B6 Very high in vitamin B12 Very high in vitamin C Very high in vitamin E Very high in zinc And it's kosher (not that it matters to me in particular, it's just good to know)! |

One of the shows on the Food Network, I think it was Roker on the Road, did a segment on this company. Looked really cool - great idea for a fast food place. I'd want one in my area

Maybe I'm a purist...but I like my cereal un-mixed. I haven't done it in years though, perhaps it's time to open up again.

Rofl! I'll have to get some cereals that would be decent to mix...right now I have Cocoa Krispies and Shredded Wheat....doesn't sound too tempting.

Reese's Pieces cereal and Kix, Apple Jax and Fruit Loops (they kind of taste the same though)... I've thought of other good combinations before, but I feel better about mixing the same shapes/sizes. (Yeah, I'm weird.)

Willtravel said it above and I totally agree - Product 19 - but I do mix it - with just about anything - 19 stays crunchy and is healthy - so mix in a little, or a lot, of your favorites and it's a really good breakfast - or any meal really. Gotta have cold, cold milk with it though.
