Cheese vs. Peanut Butter

Taking into account nutritional value, taste, cost, what it goes good with, what do you think is the better "food accessory?"

I'd go with the cheese. There's so many different types of cheese to try, and only a couple of different types of peanut butter.
Now if you're talking about plain old medium cheddar, I'll take the peanut butter...Just think of the cookies.

Cheese without a doubt. So many different types to go with different flavours and dishes. From Parmesan to St. Agur to Ricotta.

where's the both option? hm? I LOVE both with a passion...although to be fair, there are more options on what to make/mix with and also varieties with cheese. Nutritionally peanut butter aint so good for ya.

I chose cheese BUT... I love peanut butter... When I was in University I lived on teh stuff... that and Kraft Dinner (mac and cheese)...

I still have peanut butter on toast, almost everyday for breakfast... If I had to drop one though I don't think I could live without cheese... I would miss my friend PB but cheese is life.

I voted cheese, but I love 'em both, as long as the PB is the natural unsaturated kind. I hate that processed plasticky stuff.

With the bread machine I make pizza dough several times a week, so we have big bags of grated mozzarella and Parmesan cheese in the freezer all the time. Plus there seems to be blue cheese on hand most of the time . . . .

For an alfredo sauce, I just mix some milk and parmesan in a sauce pan, add a little mustard and garlic and honey.

If you have cheese, pasta, dough and some veggies on hand, there's no limit to the good stuff you can put together.

Hard question. I'd have to keep the cheese though. Too much variety to miss out on.

However, I love sharp cheddar cheese WITH peanut butter.

degrawj 02-24-2005 10:27 AM

cheese goes with so much more stuff. i just can't get enough cheese. peanut butter is pretty good, and has more nutritional value, but cheese is just plain better. :-)

Cheese.

Don't get me wrong, I love the peanut butter...but there's more variety with cheese.

Behold....the power of cheese.

I love cheese. It's an amazing food.

cant beat a slab of cheese

0energy0 03-06-2005 04:04 PM

this is really hard because these are two totally different things. i use cheese with ham but peanut butter with jelly or fluff. you can't have peanut butter with ham or cheese with jelly.

but, if you are refering to just having peanut butter or cheese between two slices of bread, then i would go with peanut butter.

Cheese = glorious. I think one factor is, can you eat the food by itself? I don't think I've ever just eaten spoonfuls of peanut butter, so I'd have to go with cheese. Man, this cheese talk is making me want some really bad... time to raid the fridge!

Oh fuck yes you can eat peanut butter by itself! You're deprived.

Both are great, but I'd have to give the edge to cheese though. You can have a cheese omelette for breakfast, ham and cheese sandwich for lunch, and a steak topped with blue cheese for dinner with a slice of cheesecake for dessert. Can't really say PB is that versatile.

It's a shame they're both so frigging high in fat though, and that the low-fat varieties taste like cardboard.

HOW DARE YOU? Chesse and peanut butter are no mere "accessories," to be thrown about at your whim onto other meals as some sort of subservient food. They are meals in their own right. Sometimes I'll have some cheese, and to go with it, maybe eat a sandwich. The sandwich is the accessory, not the cheese. It's just there to give it some texture. And peanut butter? You're not supposed to put things with peanut butter, ruins the taste.
