Order a Turducken Online?
I've been researching turduckens for this Thanksgiving, and I was a little suprised to see that you can order them online. Has anyone actually done this, and what were the results? Any recommended sites to order from?
The idea of mail ordering food has always seemed a little strange to me, but I'm intrigued by the chance to be lazy this Thanksgiving |

Heheh you can order almost anything online these days, but if youre having issues finding one locally its like ordering anything else. It will probably come to you in some cooler thing with dry ice and serving/reheating instructions. If you live in or near a large city head to the city and hunt one down!!
Ive never purchased one but they're so neat!! I am a culinary student so a chef brought one to class and we sampled it. |

I know it's after Thanksgiving but I'm curious how the "Turducken" ordering went. I'm thinking about ordering some perishable food and I'm looking for some tips & good sites.
I prefer the "Turfranken" myself... A turkey stuffed with hot dogs.

For anyone else who was like "wtf is a turducken"
Turducken -- a turkey, stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a chicken, with oyster dressing inside the chicken, andouille dressing between the chicken and the duck, and cornbread dressing between the duck and the turkey. http://www.gumbopages.com/food/poultry/turducken.html Crazy Creoles ;-) |

It's these wacky 'coon-asses' down here in New Orleans with nothing better to do on a weekend than stuff chicken into ducks into turkeys.
As to ordering one, several butchers and groceries sell them. I'm not sure which ones can ship, but a few names are Langenstien's, Peperone's and Dorignac's. These are all reputable places in the area for all types of meats.
