It's too bad you had a bad experience with game. I have had bad game in the past at friend’s places and I know what you mean, but the stuff in my freezer has converted lots of people into loving the stuff. It's flavour depends who, where, when, and how you handle the game. The deer I harvest eat grass and seed crops similar to cattle rather than sagebrush and twigs which tend to taste the shits. Keeping it clean, dust free and into a cooler ASAP makes a huge difference.
Anyways, I hope one day you get the chance to try a decent cut of venison.

Oh, and good on you for the wild salmon.
You're talking to a guy that loves to fish too ;)

pinkie 11-11-2004 09:48 AM

Thank you, splck. I'll keep my mind open... :)

boredom 11-11-2004 09:52 AM

mmm venison is so good, also rabbit, squab(pigeon), and quail, mmmm game taste so good. Id put a common 4 legged animal but may of people would throwup if i added it to the list.

pinkie 11-11-2004 10:10 AM

Cat? Dog? Rabbit? Rat?

maleficent 11-11-2004 12:02 PM

so how many different sets of china do you have? :D The breakfast plate is pretty.

Irishsean 11-11-2004 01:29 PM

Rabbit is great, especially cooked until tender with some bbq sauce. As for other four-leggeds that taste good, I know I've had dog, and it was pretty good. It's amazing the stuff you'll try when drunk and in TJ.

There's a place here in town that used to serve rabbit regularly. I've never tried it. I've tried frog, and I didn't like it.

There's another Chinese place that closed down that used to serve cat. They found a bunch of frozen cats in the walk-in-freezer.

You seem to eat alot of salads too...

rockzilla 11-15-2004 06:36 AM

All your food looks great! You wouldn't happen to cook for a living, would you?

Stug 11-15-2004 06:48 AM

Hmmm... *wipes side of mouth* the beef looked nicely cooked still pink for pinkie!

So is this some sort of carb-free/low carb diet then?

Glory's Sun 11-15-2004 07:11 AM

you eat way to healthy :p

the tenderloin salad looks really yummy though.. 'cept I'd like more red in the meat :D

pinkie 11-15-2004 10:27 AM

Thanks you guys! I really need to buy a camera. These pictures are taken with a borrowed camera, and I had to give it back. :(

I eat healthy because I've spent way too much time doing unhealthy things in my lifetime! :D ;)

Yes, I avoid sugar, flour, potatoes, and prepackaged crap. I'm not "carb-free" but I do only eat healthy carbs... :)

It's what I do for a living when I'm working outside the home! Thanks. :D

I love catering, and the more upscale, the better. I'm made the grandaughter of Walmart's wedding cake!!!

pinkie 01-02-2005 11:22 AM

The grandaughter of Walmart's sounds funny. Sam Walton's grandaughter. I wasn't sure if anyone would know who that was...

pinkie 01-02-2005 11:31 AM

I made a gorgeous cheese tray yesterday for NYs, wish I'd taken a pic. It had aged goat cheese, sheep's cheese, sage derby, tripple cream roqufort, (soft like butter) kumquats, red grapes, raw almonds, and morrocin oil cured olives. It was devoured quickly. :D

snowy 01-02-2005 01:51 PM

You just made me really, really hungry for cheese...mmmm cheese...

bernadette 01-02-2005 02:44 PM

this thread has made me even hungrier than i thought i alway ready was.

*waits for safeway select brand mexican lasagna to finish baking*
*knows i'll still be wishing for a pinkie gourmet meal*
