I had to google it --
The Source, Hot Sauce A few different places have it, priced from 79.99 to 99.99 billed as the hottest sauce around Quote:
Ok, so at 7.1 million scoville units -- based on the scoville scale it's way hotter than a habernaro - http://www.chemsoc.org/exemplarchem/...r/scoville.htm Pure Capsaicin measures 16,000,000 Scoville units.

reminds me of something I saw on the food network.. it was a hot sauce tasting contest or something. They had this hot sauce that would kill you if you took more than a pin head of it. in fact when you pulled the dropper out of the bottle you had to wear gloves and masks to shield you from the heat..that's going a little too crazy. I prefer spice and heat for taste..not for just plain heat
good stuff Mal thanks for lookin that up!! |

Th Source is a Hot sauce that is said to be the hottest at 7.1 million scoville units. It is very spendy. I bought the next step down rated at 1.2 million scoville units and died for 10 minutes trying to kill the burn. habaneros are rated only 500,000 scoville units...

A few jobs back, the person who had the office next to mine, was from Jamaica, and would go home every year for vacation. He'd always return with several jars of Scotch Bonnet Peppers.
Those things would make my head explode they were so hot... And I like spicey but those had too much fire in them...

Dave's isn't that bad... I use about 1/2-1cc when I make my knockoff of PF Chang's spicy chicken...
But as for Habanero's I don't know how anyone can describe any flavor that those things have. They're pure heat!!!

I had The Source once, it was ridiculously hot. I mean, really, really, really, hot, and I love hot foods. Don't even bother trying it. You can't taste anything for awhile after it.
However, I LOOOOOOOVE scotch bonnet peppers (and habanero peppers), I put them in my chili when I make it. Louisana hot sauce is the best, not for the heat, but for the taste. Its great in White (Great Northern) Beans, on hushpuppies, saltine crackers, bologna, ANYTHING. Being from the south, we put this stuff on anything and everything.

I'm an old man now...Daves used to be well used between myself and daughter.
Now I take previced everyday. My mouth can still take the heat. I enjoy the buzz. My asshole the next two days cannot. Can't find a bowl of ice water big enough to put my poor hemorrhoids in. I had some stuff like 6 am. One drop would bring death to a gallon of chilli. You had to wear gloves and cover your mouth as to not inhale the fumes. After 6 months this shit melted the eyedropper in the bottle! No shit! The Source sounds just like it. Could turn it into a biological weapon and empty a football stadium in seconds. Good thread I'm looking for extra hot but sweet in taste. Any suggestions I've tried a bunch but nothing really good. I made appricot jam and cooked with habaneros. That wasn't half bad..Went great on pork chops.
